This restaurant closes at 8 o clk so the staff literally force customers to eat fast and leave !!! and before taking orders around 7,40 they say nothing, they welcome you nicely ,I even ask do we have to rush to eat because you close at 8, but the guy said no no no take your time but after taking orders they show the true colors that they started saying pls make it fast we are closing we are closing..in every few minutes which is so annoying and by mistake if you ask them which dish is good here to order! They suggest the dish which is sitting in kitchen unsold! We ordered fried rice because the waiter said fried rice is good, I am a pure vegetarian and I won’t eat egg too but they serve fried rice by adding egg! Unfortunately we couldn’t eat this dish there because we ordered other dishes which are not good to take home as a Togo packing so we just packed this fried rice (they were behind us to leave the restaurant it was very rude) so we pack fried rice togo but when I reheat the fried rice at home to eat next day! My goodness the whole house was smelled like egg,i couldn’t take the smell and felt like throwing up. So pls make sure they serve vegetarian because they use eggs, especially vegan people s and do not go to this restaurant if you are half an hr towards their closing time! They will welcome you very nicely but they will serve anyhow and make you leave the restaurant and try to sell such dishes which are sitting in...
Read moreA Vietnamese-themed vegetarian restaurant, nestled in a plaza. Ample parking. The restaurant is cozy, but has decor that transforms you to Southeast Asia, including bamboo-carved starfish ceiling light covers.
Service is slow and not attentive. They try but with a full restaurant 3 servers just makes it hard for them to fill water, remember the chili sauce, and clear dirty piled-up plates.
The food is tasty although I found the imitate meat a bit salty. The salty fish fried rice also lacks that salty fish taste, although the texture of the dish is crunchy and layered.
The lau, or hot pot - we chose Thai style - was reasonable but pricey at $36 for the amount of food offered. There were about 4 pieces of imitate ham, oyster mushroom, zucchini and a plate of yellow and white vermicelli noodles. The soup was flavorable but I was expecting more of a tom yum style as oppose to a mix of spicy sweet and sour soup style of the traditional Vietnamese format.
The oyster mushroom appetizer is refreshing, with a sour sauce that blend well with the ingredient choice.
Overall, a solid good meal that is on the light side as it is entirely vegetarian and portions run on the...
Read moreMy friend and I ordered a few dishes to try with one another. We started with (#6) Muc Muoi, Salt & Pepper Calamari. Honestly, these came off more like mushroom nuggets. The batter was bland but the salt and pepper mixture was good. The side sweet and sour sauce was passable too. We also tried their (16) Bo Bia, their Autumn Wraps with jicama and other veggies. They were quite small but a refreshing change of pace from the mushrooms.
For the mains, we split the (30) Bun Hue, the veggie version of Bun Bo Hue and their (45) Com Chien Thap Cam, a combination fried rice with mock meats and topped with fried onions. I thought the noodles were good with a tangy, spicy broth and plenty of mock meats. The fried rice here was surprisingly the real winner, and our favorite of the dishes.
Overall, I think this spot felt a bit short of really wowing me. The decor inside was lovely and the service was friendly, but they were quite slow. We had to wait a bit in order to get the check to pay and leave and cards back, but it's understandable if they were understaffed. If you're in the area though and want to try some veggie Viet options, I'd still recommend...
