So happy to have this place nearby home! Today was their grand opening. We ordered their achari chicken tikka, chana bhature, chicken dum biryani, aam pani, chai and rasmalai. Everything was delicious! The chicken tikka was well-seasoned, juicy and came beautifully charred on a sizzling platter. The accompanying dhaniya chutney was freshly made - more liquidy than other restaurants, but had a nice, homemade quality. We finished all of it with the chicken. The chana bhatura generously came with two bhature and the chana was really tasty. Not too salty and I liked the masala. We sort of struggled to finish both bhature, but it was worth the struggle. :) We had to pack half the biryani, but I’m looking forward to eating the rest later tonight… the chicken in it was also well-seasoned throughout, and the biryani had, IMO, good masala. I like the biryani from Rangoli in Fremont’s Pacific Commons area, and Haveli’s is a close second on my list. The only small downside I’d note is that the bottom of the biryani seemed to have a bit more oil than expected, maybe from the fried onions. Would be nice to see a little less of that. As for the aam pani, chai and rasmalai, all fine there. The chai seemed to have a smoky aroma, like it was matka chai? Not sure if they do anything special with their chai but that stood out to us. Maybe a bit more milk could be nice. The rasmalai was light and a bit springy, definitely freshly made. As an East Asian, “not too sweet” is often said as a big compliment about a dessert. :) In this case, the rasmalai was not too sweet in a great way - not cloying or overly sugared, and that let the flavors shine. Finally for service, I hope they can continue the level they showed today! Little appetizer plates were swapped out for clean entree plates. We were asked if we were ready for the entrees to be served. And someone was always nearby to remove empty plates, deliver the bill, etc. Total bill was $55 but discounted 25% for their grand opening (thanks!). Quite reasonable I’d say, especially coming from Fremont where I feel like the prices are slightly higher for this quality. Definitely looking forward to coming back! Keep up the great work!

Truly amazing time spent with friends for dinner at Haveli Kabab and Grill. A big parking lot fronts the restaurant thus making it not one thing to absolutely worry about. We were about a group of 9 and were welcomed with a cheerful smile and were guided to the table that could accommodate us all. Shoutout to Payal who was a great host and made sure that all our orders reached to the table as fresh as they possibly could and as well making sure if everyone around had received what they ordered while helping us with the menu items. We started the evening with a couple orders of Paneer Malai tikka , chili fish and Amritsari fish pakora (awesome par awesome). The chilli fish turned out to be a bit soggy though the pakora absolutely hit the home run with the guests at the table. Paneer malai tikka received good reviews as well. We followed that up with a couple orders of Shahi Paneer , aloo gobi , dal makhani (its good), few naan (butter and garlic) and a couple of laccha paranthas. A couples guests did order Aam panna as well and did have all good an great reviews about it. Shahi paneer was pretty authentic and its aroma definitely told the tale even before we started working on it. Aloo gobi was decent as well while Dal makhani came out to be amazing. We ended the evening with orders of Rasmalai which were good though wouldn't say exceptional as there was room for improvement. Once again shoutout to the host, the ambience inside and great food with amazing vibes make it a must visit if you happen to be around looking for some good authentic Indian bites.

Stepping into this Punjabi restaurant feels like entering a rustic courtyard in rural North India. The moment you’re seated - on traditional manje (cots) - you know you’re in for a one-of-a-kind experience. They also have regular chairs where you can seat and enjoy the thali. The menu revolves around shareable thalis, available in both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options, beautifully plated with an array of vibrant, flavorful dishes. The food is authentic, bold, and hearty - true to the roots of Punjabi cuisine. Even the buttermilk (chaas) & desserts feel straight out of a village kitchen. But what really sets this place apart is the ambiance - the music, the cot-style seating, the copperware. It’s immersive, nostalgic, and refreshingly real. If you’re looking to go beyond just eating and actually experience North India, this spot is a must. Starting Saturday 26th April for lunch
