This place is always great, the food, the service always somewhere enjoyable to visit. The food portioins are generous and the food is always fresh and hot. The soup selections are great, two of my favorite are split pea and chicken and rice. DELICIOUS! The only thing I will say is dont come right before closing, and I mean like 8:58 p.m. because they will tell you that you can order to go. So just plan ahead and get there earlier the enjoy your meal there.
UPDATE: Oh country inn, my family and I are regulars here. I've reviewed them because they are always so attentive, food is always fresh and well they have a great selection.
Recently due to some major moving back home after a fire we have had to dine out due to the kitchen not being ready. Needless to say all the finances that come into play have undoubtedly made us stretch our dollars.
On one of the many recent visits we did not tip. A tip of course is not required and it's up to the paying customer wether they CAN /WANT to tip.
We go back today and get the same server as last time, this time he seemed serious , COLD and unfriendly. Maybe because of the previous no tip? Anywho our check comes out and he made it a point to circle the suggested tip percentages at the bottom of every receipt. Yeah we know they are there......no need to circle it for us.
In my opinion that was very rude, innapropriate and indecent of him. I know servers do a hard job but so do the rest of us and work for every penny we get paid. So to go into this type of job and EXPECT the extra cash in tips is not the right idea.
Loved this place but definitely not comfortable with the service any longer.
We called the manager and basically there was a lack of accountability. He said things like "what ifs" and there was no real resolution. "Well if the service had been great would it still had bothered you?" Seriously? Instead of acknowledging the issue he just took us down the route of...
Read moreThis place was really great. It was our first visit. We tried the chicken fried steak with black & white gravy which came with hashbrowns, two eggs, and your choice of pancakes or toast. The chicken fried steak was brilliantly done. A nice crisp & seasoning to the batter without it being too thick, hashbrowns were light, had a nice brown to them without being greasy, and the buttermilk pancakes had a good density. The ham, eggs and hashbrowns were tried by someone else and they polished off all of it. Another person tried the chicken and waffles. They said it was the best fried chicken they'd ever tried so I'm looking forward to going back and trying it myself. This is a brilliant breakfast place. I even got to watch the staff deal with a party being difficult about their seating arrangement and requesting a different server. They were really professional about the whole situation. I was very close to giving this place five stars. There were some very nit picky things that kept me from doing that. The service was fair but I was never 100% sure if we had a dedicated server (which they seemed to do at other tables.), our drinks could have been refilled a bit more frequently. One person actually ran out of beverage so someone else gave them theirs. We were sat really close to the front door and we ended up having a continuous battle with flies trying to land on our food. The place was really busy and over all I think the staff did a good job. I didn't check out the state of their bathrooms which is often something that will kill a review for me. If a restaurant's bathrooms are gross, how are customers supposed to be confident about the cleanliness of food preparation areas? If I get another opportunity to visit the establishment, I'll make sure to visit the facilities and update...
Read moreThis was my first visit, and it won't be my last. I had the Rosemary Chicken Sandwich, and it was perfect, including the ciabatta bun and ESPECIALLY the sauce (if I remember correctly, it was a rosemary aioli).
My uncle recommended the restaurant, saying it's one of his favorites. I can see why. The establishment's interior is a charming country, with light woods and a bright, airy feel. The staff is friendly, attentive, and efficient. Our waitress, Myra (I think), was sweet, never let our glasses get too low before she was there with a refill, and seemed to have perfected the art of being "invisible" yet always seeming to be around the minute you needed a refill. She was very good.
As to my group's food: Everyone expressed joyful satisfaction. One of us is a vegetarian and had the cheeseburger with a black-beans patty, and she said it was wonderful. A BLT platter and a soup-and-salad selection made up the rest of our quartet, and both were good. And the portions for each of us were hearty--VERY hearty! So hearty, no one had room for dessert. (But we all admired various temptations from afar.) Each meal comes with a plethora of side options. Fruit and salads were our choices. And we're talking HUGE side salads.
So, if you have a chance to try this place out, do it. I don't think you'll be disappointed. But bring your appetite, especially if you want to indulge in...
