Ménage a Trois on their menu is the best sandwich in the world. But it depends on if the staff is having a good day or not because they can make a mess of the best sandwich if they aren’t in a good mood. Moreover don’t try to Call to place an order because they won’t pick up ever. Trust me I eat here 3 times a week in the hope they are in a good mood. Lol but during lunch they are too busy to pick up calls and in the evening they are too light staffed to pick up phone calls. If they stuck to the recipe and made the ménage a Trois with consistency that sandwich alone would put other sandwich shops out of business. Apparently today there are four people working this evening but as always they never picked up the phone. The guy who looked liked the manager has an open sparkly drink right next to food prep , sweaty footballler walks in , in his shorts and the remaining two kept slogging. Moral of the story, for success go in an order and hope they will make a good sandwich the day you go in. My sandwich today was dry. I will still continue eating here. Hope they don’t spit in my food next time after seeing this...
Read moreCame in today with Wifey and a friend to check out Ike's latest "Samich" shop at Santana Row. Walking up I noted that the have a very big out door seating area. Walking inside, there is well....not much space, with counter seating and maybe 4 small tables. Kind of reminds me of Ike's 1st tiny hole in the wall shop in S.F., only with twice the room lol. The interior is all decked out in the typical Ike's whimsical style, with Ike's cartoon style head plastered everywhere. Now the Million dollar question, as true Iker's know... there is about 400 different sandwiches to choose from (no joke) I opted for the Michael Jordan which comes with meatballs, red sauce, lettuce, tomatoes and of course Ike's dirty sauce. + beer battered onion rings and grilled mushrooms. The place was packed and once again I was very pleasantly surprised on how fast they got my sandwich out to me and with no mistakes.(in the old days of S.F. it was no uncommon to wait up to one hour for your sandwich) Once again Ike's has proven why his (Samich) shops are doing so well....great products and good service at a...
Read moreThis actually started out as a one-star rating based strictly on initial customer service but they deserve at least three stars. I provided a coupon for a free bag of chips with purchase, but they charged me for the chips anyway. After noticing, they did provide a refund. The next mishap was just how long it took to get the sandwich. There were literally more employees in the restaurant than there were customers and it took at least 10 minutes to get the sandwich. On top of that, they accidentally switched the sandwich I ordered with the only other customer who was in the restaurant. Unfortunately that customer had immediately left, so they had to remake mine, which took another 10 minutes. To be fair the staff was super friendly and ended up giving me a coupon for a freebie on a future visit.
The sandwich itself was hella good and I will definitely be going back, but possibly not to this location. I generally try to avoid Santana Row anyway and this experience does not make me want to brave it again just for a sandwich. I ordered the Marshawn Lynch and it definitely lived up...
