My experience at Lahori Restaurant has been up and down. There are some items that I get whenever I'm there, such as, cholay and fish curry. I'll be honest, it's very good but at times there have been instances where it wasn't prepared the same way, i.e., the sauce is watered down and doesn't have the flavor compared to when it's prepared the right way. I dined there twice. Everybody can take the order and prepare your food because that's their business. I noticed the first time we spent over a $100 dollars. We had some leftover food which had sauces and naan. When I asked for a to go box, they give me container that snaps to close and doesn't make a good seal. Didn't ask do you want anything else, like a brown bag for the naan. I let it go. Dined in and went there a second time. Asked if they had tea. They said they're making it. It seems like they didn't care and probably just ignored it because they never made it. When we're done eating, again had some curry leftover and asked for a to go box. They did the same thing by giving me this flimsy snap on box. I said this is no good, please give me the one that has the lid that snaps shut. And sure enough, as I am driving my wife said the curry is spilling and stained her clothes. My complaint may sound trivial to some, but really why are they being so cheap. Why can't you give me the same to go containers you use to seal the take out orders. Second, I think their customer service is very poor. The people are not friendly at all. I hope they improve...
Read moreAlrighty honest review time. Came for halwa puree on Sunday to lahori. As I am in San Jose this was closest place to come to. We came at 11 and were first people here, they have kiosk to make things easier. The chai even came out few minutes after the store opened. Placed our order and within like 15-20min our trays came. Oh boy. The portions are HUUUUGE. I doubt a single person (whose health conscious lol but ironic that we came for it and speaking of health (cheat meal)) could finish it all. Channe were really good. Especially with the onion touch. The consistency was thick not runny water like other places make it.
The recommendation I would make is have the halwa be a bit sweeter. Lol my mom and I make halwa puree at home and the halwa we had today felt a bit oldish? And it wasn’t as sweet. So I would say that needed a bit of work.
The purees were amazing Allahuma barik . The chai was solid too.
By like 11:30 ppl started pouring in and I could hear DoorDash orders coming into so better get here early The staff was hella nice too when I went and grabbed to go stuff and did I mention chai was on the house? Solid place Il be be back to try other non bfast...
Read moreI ordered my food 2nd time from this restaurant both times the guy gave me dirty look about getting extra sauce. Very rude person with unwelcoming behavior. I don't know if this guy works there or he's an owner. I asked him about owner info but he refused to provide me owner info and also refused to provide his name. He has very bad attitude. He started arguing with me over extra sauce. Started telling me you shouldn't take any sauce without my permission. I was like I'm spending $50 here and it's my 2nd day at this restaurant and you treating me like that.. Pakistani guy who doesn't know how to talk to a customer. Food prices way too pricey, not worth paying $4 for a piece of kabob. I'll not recommend anyone waste your hard earned money at this restaurant. It's a very big no no no no no. Owner should take some corrective action immediately about this employee bad behavior...
