Simple Eats
San Jose’s Little Saigon is a treasure trove of simple comfort eats
Rather than advance reservations or prix-fixe menus, you find an abundance of flavors served simply and quickly
I dropped by Leung Noodle to try of the newer Cambodian style Hu Tieu noodle specialists
At 10:30 AM, the place was packed and bustling…always a good sign
The menu focuses on only one item - Hu Tieu - and simply offers multiple customization options
I ordered the Dac Biet (special) that is served with a large pork bone. I chose the dry style with soup on the side, chose both egg and rice noodle, and ordered a simple beef ball soup for extra broth
Flavors are great, especially the signature sauces and the condiment game is strong with delicious pickled garlic and chili oil
I found Leung Noodle cleaner than Nam Vang, less artificial tasting than Dalat, and with a more authentic Hu Tieu version than China Chen noodle options (I ❤️ China Chen)

Read moreThe dry Hu Tieu Nam Vang is good and we come here from time to time. I only wish they would have those typical green pickle peppers available as are available in other places that serve Hu Tieu Nam Vang. No complaints in the food, except they do offer liver and shrimp in the noodles that sometime isn’t so fresh.
Every time we visit, we are almost always disappointed with the service. Leung Noodle, if you can’t remember our order, please bring something to write with. Don’t be “cause I’m cool like that, I don’t need to write down your order cause I can remember it”, and then come to realize you didn’t enter in an order or mess up on the order.
This time my order didn’t show, so when I asked, the guy rolls his eyes at us. Cheeezzeee…we do pay for the food we eat and is polite in every way and technically, they do need us to come in to eat in order to stay in business, right? Welp, don’t expect superior service when...
Read moreWent to try this place out because it's not your typical Viet Mi Noodles, and honestly, i was not disappointed. They do the typical Mi here, but they also do it Cambodian style. I got the Mi combination that has the dry noodles with sauce on them and the pork bone broth on the side. Add some garlic, jalapeños, or chili oil to the noodles, and it's so good. The place is small, so you need to choose a good time to go, we went after 1 so we missed out on the lunch crowd. They do charge you extra for CC transactions, so you may want to bring some cash to pay for your meal. I highly recommend giving this place a try. It may not be worth a line wait but is...
