We had dinners here twice in April and May 2023. Here are my ratings. First dinner: Stir-fried veggies &tofu: excellent. Veggies were not over cooked. The sauce was neither salty nor bland, just enough. It did not taste like regular stir-fried Chinese or Japanese food. It was really a home made special sauce. My vegetarian friend really like this dish. Seafood &tofu soup: good. Taste liked other tofu soup at other Korean restaurants. I liked it since it was not too salty. Fried tofu: so so. This was an appetizer dish. Fried soft tofu with no seasoning and dip with regular soy sauce. Personally, this dish was bland. However, the tofu tasted much better if eating with their kimchi since their kimchi was excellent. Overall, it was a good dinner. Second dinner: Beef short ribs: excellent. The meat was marinated perfectly, little sweet, little salty, and a hint of sesame oil. Some pieces were a little burn but tasted still good. This was the most expensive dish. Flaming fondue chicken: excellent. This is a spicy dish but they could adjust the spiciness to your liking. White chicken meat stir-fried with their sauce (little spicy and sweet), carrots, green beans, peas. The chicken and veggies were stir-fried with the sauce first, then put on a hot heavy plate with cheese cover the whole plate, then the cheese was melted by a torch. The chicken was very tender. The cheese gave a smooth and rich taste and also balanced the spiciness and sweetness of the sauce. It was fun to watch how they prepare it. This is one of their popular dishes. Stir-fried veggie & beef: just ok. This dish was too salty to our taste. Even the meat and veggies were tender, I could not give it a high rating. It was the same dish we ordered few weeks ago but with tofu. Somehow, this time was not great. Overall, it was a good dinner. We dined here twice on Saturday around 6pm and the wait was not bad, about 5 minutes. Staff were very nice, attentive and quick refilled the side dishes. I recommend this place for good...
Read moreI really really wish I could give this 5 stars. As soon as we walked in a very friendly male staff member invited us in and seated me and my bf . The younger guy who took out our food order was great too. He was very informed on the menu and gave great suggestions. The food was OUTSTANDING ❤. This all being said I hate to admit one server ruined the experience. A young female server took our drink orders. The first thing I noticed was her staring at my bf. She would ONLY adress him and ignored everything I said. I mean he's a good looking guy I understand but 1. We are on a date and he's with me obviously 2. You're at work that's very rude. We ordered drinks and she only brought his. I asked for mine and she stared at me blankly then brought it. Luckily we didn't have to deal with her again until we left. I looked at her and said" thank you " . She looked right at him and said " thank you". I couldn't beleive it . She was ignoring me . If this was all accidental I would suggest more training. I was a server for years and to be a server you need to understand social situations so it doesn't look bad. Ignoring the woman in the couple (And the one who's paying ) makes you look flirty and rude. If it weren't for her this would be our new date night spot. 💔 much thanks to the test rest...
Read moreI love Korean food and I usually go to an ACYE restaurant but with Covid and the pandemic it's been hard. My cousin invited me out to dinner this week and we went to @Omogari in Japantown of San Jose, CA to celebrate his wife's birthday. I heard of this location before but never had the opportunity to go yet. We ordered the Beef Short Ribs (Gal Bi), Beef Rib-Eye (Bul Go Gi), and Tofu Soup with seafood. The meats were perfectly marinate and very juicy. It was tender and chewy to every bite. I love biting the meat off the bone on the Gal Bi, it's the best part to me. The Tofu soup was a perfect complement to wash down everything. It had great flavor and not too spicy. The meal came with traditional sides and we also got the seafood pancake but i forgot to the photos of it. The Kimchi was fresh, crunchy and not too salty. For dessert, my cousin got a cake from Paris Baguette. He got us the Mocha Cream cake. It was soft and fluffy in the middle. The cookies on top added a hard texture to the soft cake. It was so creamy and tasty in the middle. It was so good I had four servings. 🤣😂. I was so happy they had outdoor seating. @Omogari
