I was so hungry before my coaching meeting and this restaurant is the closest to my yoga studio. In fact, it's the only one. However, my experience was such a mixed.
Pho 24 is located in the same strip mall as CorePower Yoga Winchester. Free parking is readily available though they have to compete with yoga goers and mark some parking spots for their own business.
My first impression stepping inside the store was messiness. I could see a half eaten bowl of Pho on a messy table which was filled with random stuff like used plastic bags, partially plucked vegetables and unidentifiable things. The table in front of it had a bottle of cleaning liquid and a crumbled dirty towel. These tables are right in plain view when you walked in.
I understand that they were understaffed and there was only one server. But the restaurant was not even busy. There were only 2 other customers in the store besides me.
I was pointed to a table and offered water. The server quickly took my order which included a pork and shrimp spring roll and a house special Pho.
My food took decent amount of time to come out. The spring roll was of good portion and cut into half which I liked. The peanut-hoisin dipping sauce was a bit salty to my taste.
The house special Pho was on the same level as the spring roll. Average and a bit disappointing. The soup was great but the meats and the noodle tasted old. Their rare beef was cut a bit too thick and became chewy in the hot soup. The tendons have a very weird taste (like spoiled) that I became suspicious and had to spit it out.
Perhaps as a Vietnamese, I have higher standards for my Pho and traditional Vietnamese food. I can see these food passed as okay for non-Vietnamese customers.
The server was friendly and attentive at least. The inside was spacious and brights with natural lights coming through those floor-to-ceiling windows.
Overall, not the best Vietnamese restaurant in town but passable if you're craving Vietnamese food and needs something quick...
Read moreI really like le this place, today I had the worst experience. Their phones are busy, no ring tone nothing. I get there parked an employee (woman) parks next to me takes her sweet time gathering her belongings while she has the door open preventing my daughter to get out. I walk in and she walks in through the side door and give me a death look, I am in line waiting, it’s my turn the guy on the register by the last name of Nguyen, is starting at me I said “hi how are you” no response, then I said are your phones down I tried calling the order in he ignored me and said the menu is here and pointed at it. I ordered, then again asked about the phone he said yes it’s not working (clear english). I pay I sit and wait, the women brings out smoothies and just puts them on the table says nothing. The server with orange hair (Nguyen) brings the food puts it on the table and starts to walk away. I had enough I asked for their managers number he hands me a menu and walks away.
Unbelievable the customer of these people but when they go places they demand to have good customer service.
My soup noodles taste like their old I couldn’t even finish my Pho. What a disappointment. I truly hope management makes the appropriate changes and or trains the staff. It was never like...
Read moreVery solid Vietnamese restaurant in a locale with not a lot of Vietnamese restaurants. A great selection of pho, vermicelli noodles, rice dishes, appetizers, etc. The portions are pretty generous. My favorite is the onion beef vermicelli noodle dish -- the beef is cooked well and is tasty, and the lemongrass sauce and everything just blends really nicely. They have a special sauce for their spring rolls that isn't your typical -- I like it. The decor is also a step up from your typical pho place; I like the color combinations which are nicely balanced, eye-catching, but not overwhelming. Excellent a/c during the summer. Usually not too crowded, and service is prompt. My only issue is that the kitchen is right next to the cashier's spot, which is located in an alcove with a high ceiling or something -- effectively, it causes sounds from the kitchen (or when they're unloading dishes after busing tables) to clank and crash and reverberate REALLY loudly. I'm not a terribly sound-sensitive person, but it does start to irritate sometimes. Try not to sit next to the cashier's place (read: turn left after you enter through the main entrance) and it...
