These cold Bay Area days are perfect for bowls of hot pho. Honestly, though, I could eat pho even in 90-degree weather.
I recently discovered this place, even though it's been around for about a year. It took over the spot where a KFC used to be. Our group came in, and we were seated promptly. Menus were handed to us, and we received water in plastic cups shortly after. I browsed the menu and decided on the house special #1, which only comes in one size: LARGE. Not long after, our pho arrived.
Before adding any toppings, I tasted the broth. It was a bit salty for my preference. However, once I added all the toppings, it helped to balance out the salty taste. The bowl had plenty of meat, tripe, meatballs, and other parts, along with a lot of noodles. The portion was decent for the $17 price tag. I didn't finish the broth or noodles, but we got water refills midway through our meal. There were plenty of toppings available at the table, which was clean and well-stocked.
When it was time to pay, the guy asked if we wanted to split the bill. When I said yes, he seemed annoyed. If he was going to get annoyed, he shouldn't have asked; we would have just put it all on one card. When we left, the place was almost packed, so it's clearly a popular spot in this tiny plaza. Parking is shared with other shops. I'd like to try other menu options next time, as the pho could have been a...
Read moreSo, I was in the area and hungry as I love Asian food. I search for a restaurant near me and happen to come across Phõ Teresa.
I ordered six different servings for pick up. The guy that took my order was friendly as I ordered my dinner. However. When I arrived, I asked a gal behind the counter. If I can get some hot sauce that is the chili paste sauce to go with my order. Then I asked her if I can buy extra and she replied no you don’t have to since you ordered you get hot sauce with the food.
So then I asked if I can purchase extra hot sauce she then asked the gentleman behind the counter, and he replied no you can’t buy any extra hot sauce. It comes as a complementary, and you only get one small serving.
I said to him now listen if I was to sit here and bring my family to eat here, we would eat more hot sauce than what you’re giving me here for the to go order. He then replied, we can sell you small servings of hot sauce. How many do you want? He asked? I replied, give me five then he said three dollars more for five little tiny servings. So he charged me three dollars for five tiny little servings. When I asked him if he could, please get me more servings he said no I just work here. Then he continued to repeat himself by stating I just work here. This is ridiculous in my opinion so I just grab my food and left as I will never come here...
Read moreGreat new Pho place in town. I gave Pho Teresa a try to support small local business close by, but didn't expect much, and to my surprise, it exceeded my expectations. My favorite is #36 grilled pork & egg roll over vermicelli with a bit of salad / pickle , eating with fish sauce like dressing. The grilled pork was very tender and flavorful. The egg roll has taro and was very tasty. Yum! Highly recommend. My kids like A8 fried chicken and #1 Pho. My husband likes #51 crispy egg noodle with seafood. My family have tried # 30 Beef stew with rice noodle and their rice place. They were all pretty good. In general, convineine /close by location, decent Vietnamese food, clean and friendly. Will...
