Took our 4th graders to Mission San Juan Bautista with our friends and after the mission visit we were looking for a lunch place. We came across this little sandwich shop - the owner has named the shop after her cat! It has a small menu but everything we ordered was very good! The owner was preparing to close but kept it open to accommodate us - the specials of the days were sold out and she very kindly made us a custom vegetarian sandwich! The soup of the day - creamy butternut squash- was very good! They served it with a slice of local bread ($1.50 and sooooo delicious!) the potatoes were good and served with garlic and chive spread. There were a couple of tables outside so we just sat there but you can just take the food and walk to any of the park areas around for a great picnic. Def stop by...
Read moreIn my opinion, they served the best sandwich lunch here I have ever eaten! I enjoyed the very large, filling, and scrumptious prosciutto, brie, and jam sandwich with a cup of the vegan wild mushroom soup! I couldn't finish the sandwich, so I took half home, but I practically licked the cup to finish the soup it was so delicious! The sandwich was on the perfect toasted/grilled bread, with gooey, warm, and delicious brie cheese. The prosciutto was tender and easy to bite and their jam was definitely home made adding the perfect sweet with the meat and cheese. I would recommend stopping here for lunch if you have the opportunity! I will not forget this place, and definitely will be back again!...

Sumanos bakery bread and wonderful local ingredients. I went for my first bite of the pastrami and knew I had something special. It's not a huge wad of meat or a sloppy pile of sauces, just a perfect balance of flavors and textures with a little zip from pepperoncini. Wife let me take a small bite of her grilled cheese. What a brilliant combo of salty, creamy, and sweet. I wish I visited San Juan Bautista more often just so I could try their other sandwiches, soups, and salads. Can't...
