Stopped by now on 4 occasions. The first time was great. Coffee is always good but seriously it took over 40 minutes to get a breakfast sandwich the next time. On the third time, a woman I assume to be the owner, stood in the line that was five people deep, extending to the front door. The line just stopped moving, as well as, the employees doing anything but attending to this woman. I started timing, at this point. After, ten minutes of the three people in front of me still not placing an order due to this woman monopolizing the attention of her staff I left. Next time through, my friend begged to stop because their coffee is so good, we were able to place our order quickly and I had hopes that we would be in and out. I ordered a premade pastry that the staff were unable to identify whether it was apricot, apple or guava filled and an iced drink, so it would be quick and it was. My friend, however, ordered something complicated. Even though they have a four pull press the barista can only manage one pull at a time, so we waited for her to finish the order before us, then in walks the same short, brown haired woman who held up the line before. She walked in from the back, so she is either the manager or the owner because, again everything grinds to a halt to give her attention. I start timing. 17 minutes. I get it. It's San Juan Bautista, so they have a monopoly but this would not fly anywhere else.

My best friend's husband owns three restaurant bars in Seattle. When it's busy, I've seen him take orders, bus tables, prepare orders, make drinks.

Lady, whoever you are, stop monopolizing attention and help out and train your barista how to use...

This was the second time we come to This place. We came back because we had a great experience the first time and the ambiance is good. This last time we came my husband grabbed. Coffee back to purchase and one of the girls rudely asked him to put it back. My husband told her that he was going to purchase it. She repeated a few more times to put it back. He told her again that he was going to purchase the coffee. She them demanded him to give it to her because that was a pre-order and told Him to get it from the front. My husband kept His cool and asked if they had one in the front like the one he gave her her back and he purchased the coffee. I witness this whole thing from where I was sitting. I was glad there was no other customers in the room because it would have looked horrible for her. I mentioned her attitude to one of the girls that brought us the grinned coffee my...

This was a great breath of fresh air to stop by on our roadtrip. Fresh roasted coffee, high quality good food, peaceful patio seating with shade and good tunes, and the number one thing that drove this whole review into existence, the service provided by the staff. Starting with Matt and his knowledge of the coffees, and the menu items helping curtail our experience. Joe with his friendly table deliveries ensuring we had everything we needed and anticipating additional items to improve our dinning. Adrian with a friendly outtro to our experience with friendly chatting while getting our togo box, as well as our coffees to go with our bags of beans we purchased. I wish I lived closer to this hidden gem of a shop, and will for sure add it to our list for next time we pass by as well as tell others to add it to their list....

Vertigo is always a satisfying stop for me. Good coffee, good food, and a rotating selection of beers are served by friendly staff. The menu has grown over time and I always leave full and happy. Today my wife and I shared a Margherita Pizza and a Santa Fe Salad. The pizza crust was excellent, even by a New Yorker's standards, and the sauce had a good balance of sweetness with a hint of spiciness. Unfortunately, there was very little cheese and basil, making today's pie more like sauce on crust - see the attached photo. The salad was well-balanced and tasty, as was the dressing. I ordered a marzenbier from the tap, and it complemented the flavors perfectly. Overall, Vertigo is a five star joint in my book. Today's topping-deficient pizza was still tasty enough, and the staff friendly enough, that I'd consider it a 4.5 star meal.

If you are visiting San Juan Bautista or the surrounding area this is a must stop. We stopped in and grabbed breakfast to go. We ordered the avocado toast, which was fantastic. The bread they use is delicious. They said they use Ad Astra bread, which come from Monterey and normally they sell it, but they were out. I will definitely be looking for that place next time I am in Monterey. The outdoor patio is really nice and the people that work here are very friendly. Side note if you want to buy a large burlap sack that once held coffee they sell them here for only $5.

I went to get a coffee and asked for light ice. When I get my coffee the cup was not full. I asked if they could fill it up with cream and was told that the portions were already measured out and she was not allowed to give me any more milk. She said I could use the creamer they had out but it was empty and the line was long. I try and support smaller coffee shops but if they are more interested in profits than people then I will take my business somewhere else. Paying $6.50 for a cup of coffee and not getting a full cup really bothers me.
