The star of the show ... the brisket was cooked perfectly ... a very high quality meat (e.g., prime level) ... medium rare. It came out very juicy - which I find very rare for any kitchen to produce consistently. Most will keep serving their brisket until it's gone ... long after the juices have left. Both styles of ribs were delicious with a nice smokey bark. The beef rib was tasty.
In Southern California, this place is a 5 ... and a contender nationally as well. The last place I had brisket this good was Dallas at the famous Pecan Lodge.
The tri tip was over done in my opinion, but still very tender & flavorful. Still worth ordering in my opinion. .. my wife loves well done and she loved it. The leftovers were a reminder of how good it was. The brisket? Sorry, no leftovers.
The delicious bbq sauce was served hot - an indicator to me that this place strives for perfection. For a little more heat, just add a little of their house hot sauce. The cornbread starter is a nice touch... brought to our table early. If they added a few more ingredients, it too could be it's own star - something to add moistness, corn & maybe a hint of jalepeno or milder pepper for the masses.
The bashed potatoes were exceptionally delicious - I'll order more next visit. The corn was good too.
They have a full bar inside, but the little patio outside was nice .. the waitress put the heaters on for us.
Another bright star here is the service ... always smiling and attentive & serving drinks before we are even thinking about it. 3 waters were placed on our table with lemons. While our waitress was exceptional, I felt the same vibe from all the staff. Kudos to management for finding, training and having great staff. It's like they figured out how to get good tips and they're hooked on good service. At least I hope most visitors tip appropriately. We need more of this in our lives.
I can't see how anyone could be disappointed coming here. #9 on trip advisor - deserves to be higher on the list in my opinion.

Read moreGetting out and going to San, Clemente, and Dana point is one of our favorite things to do as a family. As you can tell by all of my reviews that I’m definitely a foodie! 😋 (I do Love Food!!) LOL. Anyways we were on one of our outings and we got hungry after spending the day at the beach. We all decided to look up something tasty and we all decided on barbecue. After looking on Google and Yelp , We found Bad to the Bone BBQ & we decided to try it. We started off with drinks of course! Lol. Unfortunately I don’t drink and I can’t really remember the name of the drinks that they ordered but I did taste them & unfortunately I only liked one of them! That would be the one with the Orange and Cherry in it! The other drink had lavender in it and it was really too overwhelming!! Unfortunately it had way too much lavender in it and none of us liked it, because of that! Maybe it would have been better if there were just a little bit less of the lavender flavoring in it. Anyways on to the food!! Lol 🤩 We all split the BBQ combo that consisted of their yummy Pork Ribs, Brisket , Pulled Pork and Chicken breast. It was all cooked to perfection and was just delicious! One of the sides we chose was their French fries. I couldn’t believe that they gave us a try of French fries! Lol.. they were also yummy!! All in all everything was very tasty. It was cooked & seasoned perfectly! The combo literally fed three people with no problem! The service was also great! If you like BBQ then I think you might like this place. I mean I would recommend trying Bad to...
Read moreI will be honest and people deserve to know and spend their hard-earned money to a good quality. We dine in for the First time yesterday after a trip to the Tabernacle experience at Capo Beach Church. I hope this review, for the restaurant to assess. 1st Food/taste was nothing special (compared to Phils bbq and Texas Pits @ Lake Forest) Our Food came cold not freshly bbq, meat as so-so, mashed potatoes disappointing, as well the mac cheese hard, the beans was mashed you cant recognized it was beans its like puree and too sour. We order 4 diff meats and whole slab baby back ribs came out cold, not even warm. 2nd the Service is terrible, the place is not even super busy we arrived at 130pm Saturday, the server did not even think that we need plates and utensils This young guy just turn his back without asking and We order a salad without salad dressing, need to go the front stand and wait for one of the staff to make eye contact, this poor guy takes order in the cashier need to stop taking order and help me, their are few young staff talking and see 3 of us waiting for their attention, the guy next to me needs cup for water. Terrible service. Definitely not coming back to this place, once is enough. There are better bbq places worth your money, Texas Pits bbq few miles away not as fancy restaurant but your tummy and wallet will be Way alot happy. I hate to put a review like this but I always see as a customer We need to inform our fellows and help the company for them to grow and improve. Not...
