If you want vulgarities and heated political exchanges interrupting your Tuesday night dinner, try Bravos. My friends, who are very quiet, non confrontational people had this exchange…
“I am completely in shock right now at what happened to us at Bravo’s restaurant in SJC. We were sitting in their patio because we had our dog and there was a political meeting going on that filled the entire patio. One of the women was wearing a t-shirt with the “F” word in large print which our daughter noticed and was uncomfortable. My husband told the lady he did not appreciate seeing her “F” shirt which then became very confrontational. And the entire group was chiming in.
We went inside to talk to the manager and was told by the owners that the group was “their friends” and was welcomed to be there.
I spoke with the owners and expressed that we did not want to sit through a political meeting of any kind and I became very upset with their lack of concern. Both owners became argumentative and confrontational. The owners told us to leave if we didn’t want to sit through it. Our food had already been served so we asked for a refund and waited in the patio while the owner went to get it.
The female owner accused me of pushing my agenda by complaining about the group which was absurd. We just wanted to enjoy dinner.
While we were waiting in the patio for our refund the lady wearing the F-word shirt began filming me and called me a C word. The owner was present and witnessed her saying that. I asked him if that was how he treats his customers and he handed me my refund and said no. We left. I WILL NEVER EAT AT BRAVO’s EVER AGAIN. I don’t care what political group people are in or what they believe. And I never discuss politics with anyone. The owner’s wife accused me of pushing my political agenda because I complained. Shocking! The owner’s lack of concern for his customers and how they are treated while dining at their restaurant is disgusting.”
Politics aside, and I truly don’t know which side my friends or these owners support, nobody wants political intimidation or vulgarities around their children or with their dinner. If the owners of the SJC Bravo truly want to place their personal political agenda above their business interest then they deserve the backlash and loss of income. What are you doing?????? Goodbye Bravos!!!!!
The owner informed us that the group meets there “regularly” so if you want a peaceful dinner, go somewhere else.
I will never give Bravo’s by...
Read moreUpdate: I am completely sad to write this updated review. By the previous review, you can see I have been coming to this family owned restaurant for years. I have tried to be supportive through some not great quality of food and service and high price increases. I invited my friend to breakfast, the first time she had bacon that was so burnt she couldn't eat it. She had to send it back two times. On the third time, the bacon was extra crispy with dark brown parts. She didn't have the heart to return it again. The second time I invited her, they rang up the wrong order. When she received her meal she said that's not what I ordered. They insisted on taking her food back instead of getting a plate and taking the food that was wrong back. When they returned, her food was cold. There is nothing worse than cold eggs. We tried to have them leave her food, absolutely not.
The last time was just too much after ordering the same food for months. I am told they can no longer give me my same order. The cook/manager said no. And they were doing me a favor by allowing it this time. This all happened after I ordered, paid, and sat down. It pains me to say I can not recommend this place to anyone any longer. I have given numerous chances, hoping for the best.
Old review..................... I find their food is always hot and fresh. Great selections of breakfast, lunch, and dinner specials served all day. Nice fresh salsa bar for free. Each location has an outdoor area with a nice relaxing fountain. The restroom is clean. Even a nice selection of homemade yummy dessert. I personally love the carrot cake, but the chocolate cake looks to die for, maybe next time. I do find they are a little bit pricier, but the quality...
Read moreYou have to love a place that waits until you arrive to pick up a to-go order to cook your fries so they stay fresh. With all the menu choices in so many varieties of food there is something for everyone's taste.
The restaurant itself is spotless and others an outdoor patio for fresh air enjoyment. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, American, Italian, Mexican, Southern, Salads, the list goes on and on and it's all delicious and fresh.
The staff is always more than helpful and makes sure you leave with what you came for - good food, good service, and a good time. It's easy to forget you're at a restaurant when dining here because it feels like you are right at home.
Calling in your to-go order in advance is a great idea but you need to be ready to run down and grab your food because they will have it ready for you as soon as they tell you it will be ready.
All around it's easy to give Bravo's ten thumbs up for regularly providing consistently delicious food for a reasonable price. Beware that the portions are plentiful and can sometimes be shared for those with smaller appetites. But for those that live to eat, you are sure to be sated with the ample portions served by...
