Unfortunately a pretty terrible experience. Do Not Come Here, EVER!!! I came here with my family after we got hungry while walking around San Juan Capistrano mission. We saw the outdoor seating and it looked very cute and they had GF options for me so we were excited. Our waiter was nice, cute place. To start we ordered calamari, di bietole salad, and drinks. The beet salad was ok. My family seemed to enjoy the calamari and bread. I ordered a skinny margarita and it was watered down so I exchanged it for wine. We ordered the main entree and I requested the pappardelle Gluten free with extra mushrooms. When my plate came it didn’t have extra mushrooms so I requested the mushrooms I had not received. The owner came by and said it would be up shortly. My mother had ordered insalate di salmone and it had some leaves that looked dry or like they were wilting and going bad so she had asked if the leaves were bad or if they were supposed to be something else that she was not aware of since the rest of the salad looked like a mixture of mixed spring greens. The waiter said he didn’t know and would ask. The owner came over and said “everything is wrong here, you return the drink, you asked for more mushrooms and now the salad is wrong! Everything is wrong here!” He was very angry and indignant and his outburst came out of nowhere. I kid you not he was yelling this at us such that other people in the restaurant looked over trying to figure out what was going on. It was unexpected and I didn’t understand why he was angry. We tried to explain that we were asking for clarification regarding the salad contents and that I had asked for extra mushrooms from the beginning and had not gotten them. Regarding the drink I explained that I didn’t like it and had exchanged it. Instead of trying to understand or look into our questions he kept repeating the same thing over and over again. Ultimately it ruined our lunch since everyone at my table became upset trying to find ways to make him understand. My mother was just asking questions and I myself had tried to explain that no one had actually made any complaints. At the end of day the owner/chef acted unprofessionally, without any regard or any attempt to understand the situation and instead took everything personally and as an insult. I didn’t realize we couldn’t ask questions if we didn’t know what we were eating or to request what we had already ordered but were not given. Personally it was sad to have to experience this with my family when our goal was just to have a nice time while visiting the area. We were all pretty upset that it turned into such a negative experience that really shouldn’t have taken place. I honestly can’t believe an owner would behave that way over simple things. The owner lacked the ability to address simple questions, to understand and solve problems and instead chose to act childishly and ruin our meal. We ended up paying and leaving after his outburst and various attempts to try and reason with him which we shouldn’t have bothered with. He didn’t have the capacity to listen and walked away several times still complaining out loud. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone. The food to that point was okay but not amazing so you’re not missing out. I don’t recommend supporting this business. Don’t waste your time, energy, or money for this place it’s definitely...

Firstly, the welcome bread was exceptional, and we were so impressed that we had to ask for more. This speaks to the quality of the restaurant's ingredients and preparation methods. It's always a good sign when a restaurant can impress diners with something as simple as bread.
The service at Ciao Pasta was also fantastic, and our server Mauricio Ayala went above and beyond to ensure we were well taken care of. He even gave us extra bread, which is a nice touch that shows the staff is attentive and caring towards their customers. Marco was also helpful and provide professional service.
Moving on to the food, the Ahi Tuna Balsamico was exceptionally good. This dish likely featured fresh, high-quality tuna and a well-balanced balsamic sauce that complemented the fish's flavor without overpowering it. This testament to the restaurant's skill in creating flavorful and balanced dishes.
