Ellie's Table — Restaurant in San Juan Capistrano

Ellie's Table is a solid 10 out of 10! I visited for the first time during lunch and tried their combo with a palm sandwich and two salads. I wasn't expecting much, as a turkey sandwich can only be so exciting, but found it to be surprisingly fresh and flavorful. You will be asked if you'd like lettuce and tomato on it. You can add get your own condiments (e.g. mayo, yellow mustard, Dijon mustard, hot sauce) from their self-service counter after. The pasta salad was very good, as was the fruit salad. I was very pleased and impressed by the portion size. Some restaurants give you like 3-5 pieces of fruit and consider it a side, but Ellie's served it in a coffee mug. The prices were great also. I went back for an iced Honey Lavender Latte and chocolate chip cookie. Worth it! The cookie was crisp on the outside, soft on the inside, and full of chocolate. Their other desserts (croissants, fruit tart, etc) also looked amazing. I loved the variety of their menu, which includes all-day breakfast and lunch options, and can't wait to come back to try other items. The Egan House was very cute and they had a great patio for eating outside. Service was attentive and friendly! We love coming to this awesome restaurant, my wife and I haven't come in and since we found it last year, the owner of the restaurant really shows a lot of care, love and kindness and everything she does together with her team, everybody there has a smile always they love to help and they always have good suggestions of food. The chilaquiles and eggs are amazing, also the kisses and the croissants as well as the salads and all the specialty drinks they have in the menu. We have recommended and we still recommend this place to anybody that is driving through Capistrano. They have limited parking yet they do have handicap places, children menu, handicap entrances as well as an amazing flavor and all the food they all do. Again this position of each and every employee you can tell how they love their job and what they do. The place is always clean, and every time we go they have so much to choose from. When you come in here you will always be greeted with a kind and genuine smile from everybody in the place. Ellie's Table at The Egan House is a gem in the heart of historic downtown San Juan Capistrano. We love the great selection of ready-to-eat items, sweets, and sandwiches. On our most recent visit, we got an inside table and enjoyed the warm and inviting atmosphere. The servers are nice, and the service is excellent, both inside and out.

The food is fantastic, consistently delicious with each visit. The lattes are made perfectly, adding to the delightful experience. Ellie's Table is named after the proprietor's grandmother, Ellie, a homemaker and cook extraordinaire. The menu features her recipes, offering comforting home-cooked dishes.

This trip we tried the Country Fried Biscuits & Gravy and Prosciutto Toast, and they were both absolutely delicious. We also love their chilaquiles and shrimp tacos, which are some of our favorites.
