Dulce Capricho, the latest addition to the brunch scene, has quickly made a name for itself despite being open for just two weeks. This past weekend, the restaurant was bustling, underscoring the need for reservations to ensure a spot. The decor is charming, with an abundance of flowers adding a delightful touch. The staff is notably friendly and eager to make your experience enjoyable. The coffee at Dulce Capricho is exceptional. The Monaliza Waffle, a generous sandwich-style waffle with prosciutto, manchego cheese, and a perfectly cooked egg, is a must-try. However, the Coconut French Toast truly steals the show, offering a flavor experience that is not to be missed. As a new establishment, Dulce Capricho is still ironing out some operational kinks, particularly in managing a high volume of orders and coordinating table service. Our wait time was around 10 minutes for coffee and 30 minutes for food, which, while slightly long, is understandable for a new restaurant finding its rhythm. The prices are on the higher side, but the quality of the food justifies the cost. The only exception is the natural juices, which seemed a bit overpriced. Parking is somewhat limited, with a small lot in the back that was full by 10:30 am on Sunday, though street parking is available. Credit cards are accepted, adding convenience to the experience. Overall, Dulce Capricho is off to a promising start and is well worth a visit for any brunch enthusiast.

I found this local spot while on vacation in San Juan. I looked up on Google, breakfast places No one recommended this place but when I saw the menu choices they have, I knew this was the place. It’s a hidden gem. The moment you walk in, you are greeted by a very pleasant hostess and a tall gentleman that seem to be the manager if not the owner, I did not get his name, but he immediately addressed me very cordially and seated my husband and I in a very cute area surrounded by lots of colorful flowers love the vibe the ambience, the sofas, you felt like you were home. I had a lavender gin drink that was perfect. Very tasty and refreshing. We shared the ham and cheese croquettes they were perfect. The presentation of every plate was on point. I had a salmon over brioche thick toast with avocado and an over easy egg everything was just right and the service from our waitress was excellent. Highly recommend this place, especially for birthdays, brunches or an all girls date cute for couples that are into this type of vibe.

--- We had breakfast today at Dulce Capricho in Hato Rey and it was truly unforgettable. The corn cream soup came warm, silky, and full of homemade flavor, the perfect start to the day. The ham croquettes were golden and crispy on the outside, soft and flavorful on the inside, while the manchego cheese croquettes had that rich, salty creaminess that makes you want more. The Pistachino (pistachio cappuccino) was a showstopper—aromatic, velvety, and absolutely unique. The salmon avocado toast was fresh, with perfectly toasted bread and tender, well-seasoned salmon. The tripleta omelette was a flavor bomb—fluffy, hearty, and packed with Puerto Rican flair. The coconut French toast was soft, sweet, and tropical in the best way. But the true star of the table was the Queen Madame… wow, every bite was pure bliss, with a perfect balance of taste, texture, and presentation. The Lumiere cocktails and the coffee de papa offered surprising, delightful flavors, and the fresh acerola juice was the ultimate refreshing touch. Service was top-notch, and Nai, our server, went above and beyond with her warmth and spot-on recommendations. We’d come back time and time again just for Nai’s exceptional hospitality.

wow. what can i say… i had such high expectations for this place from all the good reviews online. Little did i know, that the service was going to be some of the WORST i have ever received. I would not return to this place if someone payed me! As i sat at the table, i wasn’t even greeted by the server for at least 15 minutes. I waited at least 20 minutes to even put in a drink order, and another 15 at least for the drink to arrive at the table. I had ordered espresso martinis, and they came out tasting very bad so my friend asked the MANAGER to switch out her drink because she didn’t like it, which he did. After even more time waiting, i finally asked for the server to come to the table. I was then answered with an attitude, asking what it was that i needed. We just wanted to order food, which the host did for us because the waitress was still no where to be found. The only person that treated us with respect and great service was stanley! he deserves a raise!!! i will not lie, the food came out and it was delicious, but it can’t even make up for the service at all. Finally, when we were finishing and paying. I see 2 espresso martinis on my check, so i call over the manager, pablo. He starts to argue with us saying that he won’t take the martini off the check because it is our fault for ordering it, yet it was not drank. I have never been treated with such an attitude and unpleasant manner from a manager. it was very unprofessional and honestly disrespectful in my opinion. I have worked in the service industry for almost 8 years and have never seen a situation be treated so unprofessionally by a manager. On top of all of this, the “valet” costs $10 and you have to park and pick up your car on your own. I’m not sure how that qualifies as valet, but it seems like a scam. long story story, do not come to this restaurant unless you want to sit and wait for over 2 hours for the worst service you...

Disappointing Experience – Poor Customer Service & Unreliable Reservations

I had an extremely frustrating experience with this establishment’s administration. We booked a table over a month in advance for my wife's birthday, only to have it canceled just five days before the event—without any proper resolution. Despite acknowledging their mistake, they attempted to justify it through their online system. However, I made the reservation directly over the phone, not online.

Even after admitting the error, they refused to take responsibility or offer any meaningful solution. Their response? A simple apology and a claim that they no longer had space for a date that I reserved a month ago. The owner showed no concern for the situation, leaving us without options just days before an important celebration.

For anyone considering this venue, be cautious of their poor customer service, lack of accountability, and unreliable reservation system. I highly recommend taking your business elsewhere if you value professionalism and customer care. #CustomerServiceFail #DisappointingExperience...
