I visited the restaurant on a Wednesday around 5 pm when it was practically empty. People started to arrive around 6 pm. The restaurant has plenty of tables both indoors and outdoors. The cocktails were excellent, with a menu featuring their signature drinks and some interesting options. The Mariposa and El 21 were particularly tasteful and refreshing.
Unfortunately, the food did not meet the same standard. While the portions were generous, the flavors were disappointingly average. We tried the Chicken Breast and Pechuga 21, and neither dish was remarkable. The mamposteao sides, despite their appealing appearance, fell short in taste.
Service was surprisingly slow, especially given the near-empty restaurant at the time of our visit. Another troubling aspect was the lack of transparency in the menu, which does not list prices, and the absence of a receipt after payment, which felt somewhat shady.
Parking in the area is complicated. On a positive note, they do accept credit cards.
Overall, while the cocktails impressed, the food and service left much to be desired. The lack of menu pricing and receipt further detracted from the experience, making it difficult to fully recommend...
Read moreWent for date night on December 21st, thinking it would be particularly special. This was, by far, the most unremarkable, most uninspiring dinner experience I’ve had in San Juan. Menu was printed on half a paper with about 5 entree options. We got the sampler appetizer and it felt like they fried cheese, wings, and other fritters came straight from the Walmart frozen section.
I got the churrasco, medium rare, and it was bland and rushed. My gf ordered the stuffed chicken and she did not enjoy it. The drinks were unpleasant as well.
They had old reguetón, merengue, and salsa music playing loudly (it wasn’t the classic regueton or salsa songs).
There was not a single redeemable thing in this dining experience, except that our server was friendly and attentive.
Crazy overpriced! They didn’t have the prices in the menu and now I know why. I felt robbed with the price and how bad the food was.
It’s hard to believe that a respectable chef...
Read moreGreat food matched by great service. Very friendly, welcoming, helpful staff who know the menu well. Very contemporary "crisp" place with comfortable indoor and outdoor seating. Quality daily specials. Great seafood options along with varied choices for accomp/sides. "Three bean, corn kernel, chopped lettuce salad" is my fav. Quaint bar or comfy table awaits you if you're alone. The location across from statue of Ponce de Leon is a super place to prople watch. Evening lighting of "patio" is fun and...
