I'm very upset and disappointed in our local restaurants. So I have a gastric sleeve and I have medical conditions in my stomach I usually order a full meal that goes to waste. My doctor told me to order this card and present it to restaurants so I won't have to order a full meal that is going to waste instead I will order from a senior or kids meal some places don't have a senior menu but kids meal today we went to El Rancho Grande Restaurant Rancho Grande Restaurante in San Juan it's a very special place for my hubby and I. We have been going there for over 9 years since we started dating and now married even before they wore at the building they are now they used to be across at the BBQ places and so this place has sentimental value to us. Today we went in on our church class break. I was going to order a regular plate but mind you we need to go back to church food is going to go bad and I had drank so much water that I was full of it even thought I was super hungry I cant drink 30 mnts before or after drinking any liquid due to I get full even though I'm hungry. So I decided to order from the kid menu and they wanted to charge me extra money besides that price of the plate. I presented my card and they told me no they couldn't do anything about it that I had to pay extra it made me feel so sad because unfortunately I have to deal with this situation for the rest of my life trying to figure out what to eat from the restaurants it's like a really extra charge in that case all just order the regular plate. Restaurants need to do accommodations for people with medical problems don't forget thanks to us everyone has a job. I was so disappointed I was going to order the most expensive meal. So they can see I'm only going to take 3 bites... Because like I said it ain't the price it's the accommodations to someone with health problems with proof on hand and they could have handled it better. We should have known better from last time we got a hair in our food we didn't say anything but walk out but twice disappointed. Just know you all lost loyal customers that have been there from when you all started. Here is the card my doctor gave me. As a business you all need to train your staff better for customer service. Especially the manager or whoever he was the one...
Read moreThe good? Our waitress was the best we've ever had at any restaurant we've visited across the Country. I'm sorry I didnt get her name but we tipped her good.
Parking is cramped but manageable. My first observation was the nasty glass door to the bar it really makes for a bad start. The entrance to the restaurant is is roomy, there were friendly faces greeting us. The decor looked nice and clean but with the poor lighting I felt like there was much to hide. We sat at a bar table with high chairs. The menu was reasonable. We ordered the guacamole on the molcajete, steak tacos, fried zucchini and the margarita sampler. I ordered some beer which was reasonably priced.
When they brought the molcajete with the guacamole, it set the mood for the rest of the meal. Nothing bothers me more than guacamole sitt in my on large leafs of lettuce then decorated with other fillers. At the price they are charging I want guacamole in a bowl. Really guys?
The zucchini was fantastic, but not well seasoned. Regardless it was very good. I was turned off having to open packets of dressing to dip the zucchini. Dont blame the pandemic guys there are plenty of "whatabouts" to make my case.
Margarita sampler bothered me in that one of the sampler glasses held limes. Really, why skimp on one glass? Put the limes in a bowl and get me the cucumber lime margarita in the extra glass like it's supposed to be done.
The Chile relleno platter was simply a mess. It was huge, but most of it was beans and rice. The chile relleno was flaccid and overcooked but still had flavor.
Anyway, all in all we didnt spend too much. Four of us ate there and the bill, beer and tip included, was under 70 dollars which was more than reasonable. We...
Read moreI have ate her at this place once before and I was pretty delighted with their food and i stopped by for lunch today and was basically turned away at the door due to bringing in my yeti mug as i do in every restaraunt with my meal. I informed them why can we not bring in our own personal mug to take my drink (tea) with me when i leave ? and they were scared to tell me then they said that's ok you can go in and take it. I said no, is that the rule no outside glasses in ? And i said we are not in covid lockdown.
The nice lady behind the cash register said i am sorry sir it's just our boss doesn't want outside glasses in ??? I thanked her for her honesty and told them respectfully that is alright i will take my business elsewhere. This owner is doing all kinds of business and will not let me bring in my 28oz. mug because i don't always finish my drinks and I always take the remainder with me. Not good business practices. Anybody coming to my business and wanting to bring in a mug i would view it as less waste in my cups or time to clean the glass also and as i was always taught. The customer is always right especially with a petty rule like that.
Good food in past when they accepted my mug before and not now. I won't be giving them my hard...
