Tia is a small cafeteria located in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico. My wife found them on Instagram. We arrived on a Wednesday morning around 11am. Parking is valet only so be mindful. There are no reservations, walk-ins only. The main dining area has limited space. When we arrived we were greeted and seated quickly. After that things went downhill. We ordered a cafe latte to begin with while we looked over the menu. Afterwards we ordered a brown butter waffle, a chorizo burrito and a side of French toast and a side of bacon. We waited over 40 min until we had to ask our server, Katherine, what the problem was with the food taking so long. It appears that she either forgot or the kitchen staff forgot. She never came back, we were told she went on break. Other people that arrived after us, were ordering and getting their food before us. When the food came out, it wasn't hot, it was lukewarm, so it was probably just sitting there waiting. We quickly ate and paid for our meal. We tipped but they really didn't deserve a tip. I usually don't like to leave negative reviews but this visit could've been so much better, if only they paid attention to the basic details of the food industry. The servers were probably over worked because they were all over the place. Hopefully the management either hires more staff or helps out because the service was very lacking. The food was decent but nothing to rave about. We will not be coming back. There are better places to eat in Guaynabo and the metro area. This place is over hyped and just another...

The parking system is a little confusing. The parking manager was a little hostile asking if I had a reservation but I called the restaurant beforehand and was told they don't accept reservation so I was so confused. It took like 5 min to finally be let in to park because he was asking lots of questions and being hesitant to let me in (even though there was PLENTY of parking available). I felt like he just wanted me to leave because the place was full.

20 min later, we were let in to the restaurant. The waitress was kind but she would take so long to acknowledge us and took our coffee order in like 10-15 min after we sat. Later it took an hour for our food to be ready but one of my friend's food wasn't served after 15-20 min that the rest of the group's food was served. Food was good but not...

I think this place is a bit too overpriced and overhyped review-wise, I think the food was that of a normal chain dinner "Denny's or IHOP". I ordered a regular waffle, it wasn't even a Belgian waffle for $14 w/o sides, and it tasted like box mix with a plastic taste. You have to pay for all the breakfast sides separately, which runs you from $2 to $5 additional dollars from your overpriced main plate, which are also equally disappointing. The maple bacon, is just bacon with a drizzle of messy drizzle of maple syrup for $4. The only thing I enjoyed overall was the natural orange juice and the service. Disappointing and overpriced...

I had the chicken and waffles. Let me tell you, that was one of the best fried chicken I’ve ever had in my life. I would go back just for that. The waffle was wonderful, fluffy and not too sweet which was a perfect pairing for the honey sauce they offer with the plate. They use a specific coffee brand, sadly didn’t get the name, but it was so so so good. You don’t get the bitter after taste, and it has a few aromatic notes at the end that’s just wonderful. Also can’t forget to mention that service was amazing and we loved being able to see the kitchen production. We had a great experience, definitely felt like I was at my Tia’s place!
