Taqueria La Herradura San Juan — Restaurant in San Juan

The place is a little small but it feels nice and "home-y", very Texas imo tho I think they were trying for a Mexican feel given the restaurant's name. The food was excellent and we had no negative remarks about it. Service left more to be desired tho since an issue was that the food got to us before the drinks and I can't confirm it since we didn't get refills but the fact that the fountain drinks were served by them instead of getting them ourselves I feel they charge extra to refill, but again I cannot confirm this. I used a similar restaurant (Taco Rico) as comparison and while this one is quite under it when it comes to service and atmosphere, it's still a decent place to eat. Used to like it, but don’t recommend it anymore. The food quality has gone down. Gotten food poisoning from them a few times. But, I had a craving for tacos so I was trying to give them another chance. I ordered before heading over to give them some extra time. Waited an extra 30+ mins after arriving. In total, waited almost 2 hours and my food still wasn’t ready. I asked them and they ignored me, didn’t apologize or anything. I have been taking out and also dining in here since they opened. Unfortunately, they aren't consistent with their charging practices. I have been getting the taco chiles with cheese tortillas instead of corn for some time. They originally told me there was no extra charge because they were swapping one for the other. It's always been like this, but all of a sudden, they're charging FOUR DOLLARS EXTRA for four, very small cheese tortillas EVEN AFTER NOT getting their double corn tortillas. ¡ABSURDO si piensan que tanto así está el queso!
