We had a really odd experience here. The khao piak sen - chicken was tasteless like water, the cook maybe forgot ingredients and forgot to taste the broth before it went out. It had absolutely no flavor, and we specifically came here to order that. The Kasoy looked delicious but was also really subtle in flavor for the broth. The ingredients seemed fresh. We've had home cooked Mien and Lao food a lot, and we were sad that our entrees had almost no flavor. We were surprised because the sampler platter of appetizers had good flavor. The money bags and egg rolls were delicious and super crunchy! We really loved the papaya salad, which was fishy, salty, and spicy! The service was good, but we were so confused and conflicted by the food that looked authentic but instead was very disappointing.

Couple weeks ago, I ordered to go. Food is way overpriced for the portion they serve in containers. The mango sticky rice was not fresh, mine tasted like it had just been reheated in the microwave and the mango was unripe. The owner was very unfriendly when I called to share my feedback and did not want to find a resolution. Instead, he was insulting and demeaning. It was a shocking experience as most business owners would work things out with their patrons. I said that we are repeating customers but he did not care and proceeded with rudeness. I’m a big supporter of small business, mom-pop’s shops but because of this unfortunate incident, I cannot recommend this restaurant. I find the overall quality poor, especially in customer service.

Ordered crab fried rice and after 30 minutes I got a plate of fried rice with barely any crab in it. At most had like 5 crab bits in there, although it did taste great I barely got any crab and it was $3 extra. I got way more egg than the main protein for a $19 dish. I was gonna order some curry until I found out that rice was $2 extra which I never heard of when ordering a dish like curry you would expect to get rice already on the side. Their Thai iced tea was great and all but you barely get any with all the ice they put to the brim of a little mason mug but at least they put an umbrella on top.

We love getting the weekday lunch special (end at 2pm), which usually runs ~$15 (depending on the dish for the day) and includes an iced Thai tea, which comes in a Mason jar with a cute umbrella if you dine-in. It's a different dish every day, so we call in beforehand to see if it's something we'd want to try. I wish there were some quick online reference we could check for this, instead.

Overall, we've had really good experiences with most of their fried rice dishes, their half chicken (oven roasted), their "lollipop chicken" (fried legs), their salt-and-pepper chicken wings, and their garlic noodles. We weren't fans of their overly-sour basil shrimp, nor their overly-sweet-and-sour basil chicken, which was super saucy and had too much canned pineapple dumped into it.

Great service and good portion sizes! A nice sit-down in the...
