Jersey Mike's Subs — Restaurant in San Luis Obispo

I used to always order the#8 sandwich off the app once, sometimes twice during the work week. There's a location a couple of miles from my office and I'd go pick it up, bring it back and have time to enjoy it on my break. The #8 comes with bacon, but for the last several visits, they've forgotten to include it. So I attempted to adjust my order and add "extra bacon" to see if that would help. That only work once and for the last 3 consecutive visits, no bacon and no extra vinegar which I always request. After these failed attempts, I gave them another try and chose a later time like 2pm for lunch pickup. Maybe it's getting forgotten during a rush. So, I went in at 215 for my 2pm pick up and not only was it not ready; it hadn't even been started; and there were no customers in line! So I sat down, checked messages, but upin near completion, of my sandwich, I had to remind them about the bacon & vinegar. This is super diappointing, because I love Jersey Mike's and am happy to pay double if it were just made correctly! I used to spend about $30 or more a week, but now, I don't even consider this location an option for a lunch break. Unless I go in on a weekend when I plenty of time to kill, I won't be returning. I've given this location many, many chances, but...

The girls at the counter were very ditsy and not paying attention to me or my order, had to tell them three times I wasn't there for a pickup. The bread they gave me was definitely not to standards (it was about as big around as a dill pickle) No condiments on the bread, they just started slapping ingredients on it before I even told them what I wanted. All said and done the sandwich was terrible, ingredients were falling out the sides, bottom bread was soggy with oil and vinegar to the point of falling apart, top bread was dry as a bone. Paid extra for avocado and they barely wiped a smidgen of it on the bread so I didn't even taste it. Didn't ask if I wanted salt and pepper, just did it, same with the oil and vinegar. Somehow they managed to sneak onions into the sandwich as well even though I told them no onions. Above all else I paid ten dollars for it and that was a regular size, definitely not going to be returning....

I sincerely cannot believe how uninviting this place was today. Here are some issues that stuck out the most, definitely not all of them:

They are out of stock on most chips, drinks, and some meats. The service was uninviting and without hairnet or ball cap. The store was empty, most lights were off, there was no music playing, and every single table was dirty, with chairs scattered around. It really seemed like some tragedy had just occurred, yet they plan to remain open for another 5 hours. Baffling. The work station was a mess, with about 3 tomato slices soaking in their own water.

Nothing about this scene gave the impression I would escape without contracting food poisoning. As a former foodservice manager I am only posting this because ownership has the right to know what is going on when they aren’t here. They should have just closed instead. This experience tarnished my perception of Jersey...
