If I could leave negative stars I would. It took over forty minutes for my pickup order to be ready past when the email told me it was ready. When I arrived the lady took my name and said they were waiting on wings and then she turned around and disappeared into the back and didnât come out after saying she would check on them. After waiting I moved aside so the other customers behind me could begin picking up their to go orders from another employee. I saw that my pizzas were ready and sitting on the oven with my name on them and noted the time at just after six pm. After waiting ten minutes I checked again with her and she said the wings still needed to come out. I sat at a table and watched 5-6 other orders get picked up. After another ten minutes I walked up and asked how much longer and another girl said she was sorry and walked away again with no update to how much longer it would take or what the issue was. The cook line was bustling and pushing out order after order as I continued to wait. Finally after almost thirty minutes of waiting I interrupted the staff and asked for my order. I was told now they were waiting on garlic knots. I said my pizzas had been sitting on top of the oven since before I arrived and pushed the issue stating I had been there thirty minutes and was still waiting after watching 15 others come and leave. Employees were turning their backs to me and ignoring me. Then one guy saidâ we gotta give it to you all at once, ya know?â I know that if I pay for food up front, then it belongs to me as soon as itâs done, not held hostage for a half hour to keep a customer there waiting and wondering. At this point I was so angry and frustrated I was shaking. I wanted to take what was ready and cancel and refund everything else. If the place was this far behind on orders why the hell was I sent a notification saying my food was ready? Who made that decision, that would waste my time for so long? I was preparing to call my credit card to dispute this charge and issue and chargeback and leave. I recieved the order ready update email at 5:50. I arrived at the shop at 6:01. At 6:34 my order was given to me at long last and i left. I wish there was a way to get at least my tip refunded because nothing about that customer service deserved it. I was ignored and treated disrespectfully. I took the food home and enjoyed hour old pizza with my family, who all agreed we will never ever order from this...
Read moreI am honestly totally bummed on this place and hope that the owner or manager is reading these online reviews since it seems that the staff working during our experience was completely incompetent. Blackstone is our neighborhood pizza place. They have pretty good food, however after our experience with them last Friday night and seeing their questionable customer service and food handling skills, I WILL NEVER eat there again! We called in an order for delivery first and were told that the wait was an hour and a half. So, instead we decided to pick up our order since we just live up the street (were told only a 30 minute wait). When my husband and his friend went to grab our pizzas (nearly 40 minutes later) they were not ready. Unfortunately, they did not check our pizza order until they came home. When we opened our pizzas to eat, were shocked to find that both pizzas given to us were completely incorrect. It was clear that they had given us someone else's order. Disappointed but starving at this point, we called to let them know they has messed up said that we're just going to keep and eat the pizzas they had giving us. Instead of apologizing for the mix up, the woman on the phone desperately said that they actually would be needing those pizzas we were wrongfully given back! She said that they would deliver our actually order momentarily... This was interesting. I thought that by law you are not able to redistribute food after it had been already given to someone else? When the delivery man arrived, still no apology or offer of compensation for what had happened! Just a desperate thanks for the pizzas back and here you go. I'm appalled to think that they actually redelivered the pizzas that were originally given to us, but this sounded like what they were going to do. So if you were a customer who ordered a half cheese half pepperoni and a half what looked like four cheese half meat lovers with onion pizzas last Friday night, I'm very sorry that your pizzas were cold. They came home with us first! Blackstone, you've lost two neighborhood customers with kids. We will be ordering many pizzas for years to come. Just unfortunately no...
Read moreI really like pizza, I mean I really really like pizza. It is a staple food in my opinion. Unfortunately, it is hard to find decent pizza these days with the abundance of chain restaurants. Don't misunderstand me, I'm not about to give Blackstone Pizza a review purely based on the fact there seems to be few local pizza places anymore!
Well maybe that might be part of my 5 stars.. but that's OK. They get one star added just for being independent and local. The other 4 stars go 100% to their food, service, cleanliness, staff, prices and deals. And they also have IPA on tap.
THE Pizza is Perfectly Delicious. Fresh Made Dough; Crust is not too thick and not too thin; Tomato Sauce doesn't give heart burn (a sign of pro chefs); Cheese is definitely freshly grated-- it must be a blend of different types; Toppings are caramelized, grilled, freshly tossed, etc.
They have slices in the front which is a plus. PIZZA I can recommend the SHANGRI-LA, COLORBLIND, and THE STREET TACO.
The Service is great: Attentive, pleasant, but not in your face every 5 seconds. Staff is friendly and seem like nice people.
Video games, Soda machine, TVs, music... all good stuff.
The PRICES are pretty good I reckon. Compared to other spots around North County they are about 10-12% less. Which is pretty cool since the ingredients seem high quality. A 16 oz Beer on tap will run you 2 for $9.70. That's less than 5 bucks each! I love Stone Brewery, but it's like 7+ bills per glass there.
I've had pizza back east, south of the border, midwest, and northern states. Pizza tends to change from area to area. So You know what the thing about pizza is? You just need to find a spot you like and stick with it. For me, Blackstone Pizza...
