Nestled on the hills right next to Mission Hills High School is Hollandia Park. There are multiple trails around the park that are perfect for a jog with the stroller. It isnāt completely flat so keep in mind that youāll have some inclines and declines. The playground needs a little TLC by the city because the rubber surface needs repairs in multiple areas and the smaller playground had a broken slide so itās boarded off.

Ā Ā Ā Read moreSkate park section: This is a great skate park but it is NOT for beginners. This is definitely a skate park built for experienced skaters. I have seen people ride skateboards, scooters, and roller skates here. The people who come to skate here are mostly middle schoolers and high schoolers as this park is right next to a school, and unfortunately that means it comes with lots of very rude, cruel kids. I have come to this park many times (as a girl) and been bullied by immature high school boys who think they are so cool. The only reason I'm giving this park three stars instead of one is because the design of the park is super cool and would be more enjoyable if there weren't rude kids here all day and night.
The rest of the park with the grass and playground are 5 stars! Beautiful place with wheelchair accessible restrooms.
Dog Park section: This is a dog park with two separate fenced in areas; one for smaller dogs and one for bigger dogs. When I came on a Friday night my dog was the only one there for 30 minutes until another dog came. The dogs we met were all friendly and the people too. These dog parks are only dirt though, no grass, and unfortunately there isn't a ton of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis could be a 5 star park and our favorite in San Marcos. BUTā¦weāve been coming for the last few years, and itās always had a sewer smell. Previously, it was once in a while and we could walk out of it to a different spot. At first we thought it was the bathrooms. Now, the smell is constant and everywhere in the park. You canāt get away. Iāve heard the smell is also at the church next door and can be smelled at the high school also next door. Seems like thereās a debate between whether itās Hollandia Dairy or the porta potty place dumping. Whatever it is, it needs fixed and is completely unhealthy. We will not be returning because of how bad itās gotten. Amenities and size and playground and trail around are all great. Also large fields, dog park, skate park, rock climb wall, and our favorite the see saw swing. But we just canāt enjoy ourselves with the smell. Please work on fixing this San Marcos! I feel bad for the high school...
