I guess I can't really review the food, because I never got mine. We had a large party of over 20 people (I made a reservation). Every other party at our table received their order and was completely finished eating when we were told that OUR pizza was still not done and needed to go back in the oven (after they had cut it). Meanwhile, I am watching every other table around us get their pizza.
But let's rewind for a minute. I arrive at the restaurant and greet my family and friends, who are there to celebrate a very special occasion. It was a last minute idea, and we needed somewhere that could seat us all, so pizza sounded like the best place. After saying hello to my family, I go to take my order. I am standing at the counter, waiting to be helped, and talking with my cousin, when I am rudely ORDERED to move out of the way. I thought it was a bit rude, but...whatever. My cousin and I return to our conversation and we hear, "WHAT?!" We turn to see that the same rude woman was addressing us. Apparently she thought that we had given her some remark after we had just been ordered to move. We didn't, but again...whatever.
Still waiting to order...... Once again ORDERED to move. Now, what the heck do you want me to do? I am against the counter, waiting to order. Never once does she say to me, "The line is over there", or "Can I help you?" or, "Is this your first time with us? Here, it would be better if you stand over here while you wait.....FOREVER".
(This is the point when I should tell you that this lady is the owner, and she just took over ownership in Nov of 2012. If you were there before then, you should have a completely different review, as I heard a lot of good things about the place before then.)
She then proceeds to kick a family member out because she doesn't like her attitude, you know, because she told her to stop being rude to our entire party. She yells at my uncle for ordering a glass of wine from the table, instead of walking to the counter, she cornered a teenager to yell at him about his mothers attitude (the one she kicked out). Then gives me a hard time when I ask for my money back, because all my family is done eating, sick to their stomachs from the service (or lack of it), and leaving. We on the other hand are starving, have been there over 90 minutes, been yelled at the whole time, and still have not seen our food.
She then comes over to the table to give us more trouble. Now, let me be clear, we are not a loud unruly bunch. We are not drunk (although she told one of our party to "sober up" even though she was NOT drinking). This is all in front of about 4 more tables of pizza. She also walked to other tables, badmouthing us within earshot.
I know it sounds hard to believe, but this is the way it happened. I am absolutely appalled, and in complete disbelief myself. I sat there with my mouth open. And we couldn't just get up and leave because everyone was either eating, or waiting, and we had already paid.
She did finally give me my money back after telling me how rude I was being... apparently you are supposed to sit quietly with your mouth shut while you wait 2 hours for food (mind you it is now almost 9:00, and neither me, my husband, or my children have had dinner).

So this review is two-fold: food and customer experience.
Food: we got a whitestone pizza with chicken and a chicken BBQ pizza with some appetizers. Everything was delicious, hot, and fresh, although the portion for the garlic fries and lack of adornment (looks like they were thrown in garlic oil instead of fresh garlic/parsley/Parmigiano) were a little disappointing. The taste, however, was good. The pizzas themselves were fresh and flavorful, with the Whitestone having a great balance of flavor between the basil and ricotta. I'd say the BBQ sauce was just a touch too sweet and maybe needed a little more smokiness to it, but I'm splitting hairs. I'd definitely order the pizza's again. Unfortunately it would probably have to be from a different spot because...
Customer experience: when I went in to pick up my order the staff were friendly, polite, and inviting. They were also all completely unmasked. I understand to some this won't be an issue, and I'm not going to pretend as though I'm 100% sure this is the case all the time or that they do or don't take cleanliness seriously. I'm disappointed as I definitely enjoyed the food, and aside from this it was a positive experience, but I don't believe I'll be making another order here unless that changes. Horray for the times we...
Read moreSo my fiance and I tried this place for the first time today after seeing it from the street numerous times. After getting to the front of the establishment you see that what looks like a $5.00 large pizza is a $5.99 "large" pizza for carryout only. We went inside and there was a cop behind the counter just eating slices out of the window and come to find out if you want a pepperoni pizza you have to pay $1.50 extra. After waiting 20 minutes my fiance went to check on the pizza, mind you the place was EMPTY besides staff and cop, and they rudely told him that they weren't Little Ceaser's. They finally brought us the pizza and then kicked us out saying we couldn't eat in the place. They charge $15.00 more for that. The pizza didn't even fill out the box and was nothing special. Had it been Little Ceaser's we would have had friendly service, and delicious pizza, and been able to eat wherever we wanted. And this says a lot when I am saying Little Ceaser's would have been fine dining compared to this s* hole. I think the worst part of it all was how horrible the pizza really was and that they consider it NY style. Just remember if you ever decide to try for yourself to "read the sign properly" because the owner will just rudely tell you himself. Seriously stay home and...
