Champa Thai Massage — Local services in San Marcos

I posted this on Yelp back in April 2024. My first massage with Judy was excellent. She did everything I asked - deep tissue etc. Based off of this, I unfortunately bought a pack of massages. All my subsequent massages with Judy, Nan and Mariana just fell short. If I asked Judy and Nan to focus on my neck and upper back, they'd spend half the time on my legs. Nan and Mariana had some strange way of massaging you while laying on your side - super uncomfortable and definitely not relaxing. Also when I asked for deep tissue, inevitably I got back walking, stretching, joint pulling etc. Finally I got good at stopping them but should I really have to keep reminding them during a session? I actually got hurt after sessions with Nan and Judy. My finger joints have not fully recovered for 6 month since being pulled on and my hip got pulled out too and took a month to recover.

Now all the ladies are super nice, so I was reluctant to give a bad review, but honestly, I couldn't even finish my pre-paid package. I was tired of getting hurt and not feeling better. Thai massage is definitely not my thing - I can't handle it - it feels heavy handed and rough. Maybe this kind of massage works for others. So unfortunately, I have to give my honest opinion, which is that the massages could have been better. However, I am recognizing that some may like this style of massage but my personal of preference is not. Like I said, the ladies are super nice, making appointments is super easy - even last minute and if you want to pay for a package, you can get a massage for a really great deal. But I won't...

A very special place in North County with somehow a collection of excellent experienced thai masseuses. Well over 50 years combined experience and truly unmatched. Going there is getting the best deep tissue (if you want) massage, an amazing full body adjustment, helpful info where problem areas are, and how to address them on your own.

It is also not expensive for what you get, packages are downright cheap.

Do yourself a favor and go. In my life I have only found a small handful of skilled masseuses I truly feel have helped me, 3 at Champa have - and there’s more I haven’t even gotten to yet.

Judy the owner is very strong, sweet and intuitive - don’t let her small size fool you. She and the other masseuses will cater the massage to your needs after evaluating you with their hands focusing attention where it needs to be.

Judy is also an excellent communicator and wants to help you stay healthy, she really cares and it shows.

There is no hit or miss with their technique and methods either, it truly is a collection of skill I have not found anywhere else in San Diego.

Husband and i went for a couples massage, first off my massage was 5 minutes late bc the lady broke a mirror and had to clean it up, the time was not made up at the end. The woman's hands were rough and she basically just rubbed my body for 45 minutes rather than Massage it and the two women doing our Massage were talking the entire time. Hard to relax when two people are chattering. Not to mention it was very warm, like 80+, no AC, and my husband's masseuse left the room to take a phone call.
