Daiki Sushi – A Hidden Gem for Japanese Cuisine and Drinks I had a great dining experience at Daiki Sushi! The atmosphere was relaxed and inviting—perfect for a night out or a casual dinner. One of the highlights for me was their drink menu. They offer a solid selection of Japanese beers like Kirin, Asahi, and Sapporo, both in bottles and on draft. I went with the Asahi draft—crisp, cold, and the perfect complement to the sushi rolls. If you’re into sake, they have some premium options. I tried the Sho Chiku Bai Nigori (Unfiltered) which was smooth and slightly sweet—an excellent pairing with the spicy tuna and salmon rolls. For those who prefer wine, they also offer Cabernet, Merlot, and Chardonnay by the glass. The dinner menu offers a $35.95 per person all-you-can-eat option where you can choose 3 items at a time. I went with the Tekka Maki, Sake Maki, and Negi Hamachi Roll—each one was fresh, flavorful, and well-prepared. Overall, the service was quick, the food was on point, and the drinks made it even better. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a quality sushi spot with a nice beverage selection to match!

I had dinner at this restaurant last night and started having severe diarrhea within 30 minutes of leaving—while I was still driving home. I had to pull over twice due to stomach urgency, and had two more episodes this morning. It’s now been over 18 hours and I still feel abdominal pain and discomfort. I didn’t eat anything else all day except for a coffee and a muffin in the yesterday morning. The only major meal I had was here. One of the sushi rolls had a strange-tasting yellow fried topping, which I now suspect may have been spoiled or improperly handled. Food safety is not optional when serving raw fish. This was a disturbing experience. I will not be coming back, and I hope the restaurant takes this seriously before someone gets even sicker.

Honestly, I think this place is amazing! For only $22+/person for AYCE when we went, everything was perfect. Food that was meant to be warm and crispy was exactly that. Sushi was flavorful and service was fast. They were also super attentive and greeted us immediately when we entered. This is AMAZING value in San Mateo for the food offered. There was also a large variety of items available to order from including beer on tap. The other reviews on google do not do it justice! Obviously don't expect ridiculously high quality sushi and sashimi that you would've gotten from a fancy Japanese restaurant. This place is no frills, great quality and great options to choose from.

On Monday (Memorial Day)May 5, 2018

Hey Guys, I just want everyone to know that this has been the WORST sushi restaurant that I been to. First of all, when we arrived at the place look really decent and clean. My son, my wife and I sat down and notice that they were serving ALL YOU CAN EAT for about 20 dollars per person. Keep in mind when we arrived at 1:20 pm PST. The waiter gave us three menus to mark three items we want it. So it was three items that you can order at the time per person. Once you were done eating with your three items you can order another three items and you will just keep going until your done for the day. That was the deal Daiki Sushi. Once we selected the 3 items per person a total of nine because we were three in the party. We also order three drinks. We finished the first round. Second round came and we order another 3 items per person. We finished everything except half of one rolled (1 item). The waiter Asian male with prescription glasses in his late 20's takes over now two menus to select items for the third round. Keep in mind I still have one rolled left from second round and it was the half of that rolled. The waiter comes over to our table and says make your last selection because the sushi bar will CLOSE now. I was like what seriously we have been here for approximately 40 minutes. How come you did not tell me the sushi bar will closed in 40 minutes. We then made our third selection only from those two menus requesting a total of 6 items. At this point there was two small parties in the restaurant. One table of three and our party a table of three. Our waiter and two other Asian employees working behind the sushi bar were just STARING at our table like three HAWKS. From the request of the 3 round they only brought a small salad and kept the rest of the request by the sushi bar. The three employees were staring for a good 13 minutes which made really uncomfortable and weird at distance of approximately 25 feet. Then I called an employee over the waiter sends another employee not waiter. I asked why are you not bring out the rest of the request. He replied you need to finish the rest of the rolled. I said the the employee this is my dish my rolled not my wife or sons dish. We want our food. He said you need to finish your dish before I can bring your other items. I was really I am paying for all you can eat is not like I am wasting your food. He replied there has been customers that abuse the ALL you can eat. I was look I am not them. At this point I only have have a rolled from round 2 and a small salad due to that they refuse to give me the rest of the items. They still charge me ALL YOU CAN EAT even though they did not kept the deal on the their side. The really dont care about their customer. THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE in the bay area. I really dont recommend this place. I ended paying 65 dollars and change. This service had my memorial weekend with a...

Ordered via GrubHub, as I usually do from this place. Usually the customer service isn't that great but they were all extremely rude to me today. When I came to pick my order up they did not even give it to me or greet me, just pointed to it on a table for me to get it, they asked me to confirm the order and I did; however when I got home I had received multiple phone calls from two different numbers and I had answered one of them. It was the restaurant demanding me to bring back the food I took. I was extremely confused because they had said the food on the table was mine. The food was cold when I got it, including the one I had apparently stolen. The man on the phone was extremely rude and was telling me that I was wrong and that he never said it was my food. I returned the food when I wasn't busy anymore (I did not touch the food) and they had only said "thanks" and that's it.

I don't usually rate or reviews restaurants at all, but this is really unfair and they really had it coming considering how rude they are constantly to me and...
