Wow! What a delicious meal! The proprietor posed several counter questions about my preferences before providing me thoughtful advice as I asked which goat preparation was recommended, then brought me a goat curry that was not oversalted unlike so much Indian cuisine, yet with distinct and delicate flavors, savory goat falling off the bone and fragrant basmati rice in which each tender grain was distinct and fluffy. The garlic naan could perhaps have had a bit more garlic but was otherwise perfect with a golden crispness and a wonderful mouth feel. The mango lassi might have been the star of the show though, as it was unlike any lassi I've had with a distinctive mild acidic tang from the yogurt which accented the sweet mango flavor in a fascinating conversation on my palate. I regret only that I was so hungry and it was so delicious that I failed to take a picture of it before it was reduced to a orange and white abstract painting on the square shallow dish I was given in which to mix my magic. So happy this place is on the way home...

We were having a get together with some friends at home, for which we had ordered pure veg food from this restaurant on Oct 20 2025 at 9.15pm via DoorDash. Instead of veggie tikka masala, Curry & Kabab delivered a goat/lamb (meat) dish that too on our Hindu auspicious festival of Diwali. We had already consumed some portion of it by the time we realized it was actually meat (we initially thought it was soyabean). I am a strict vegetarian Jain and this was a serious violation of my dietary and religious practice. I had several bouts of vomiting and almost fell unconscious. Such a poor management by this restaurant. We've tried contacting the restaurant and DoorDash but we didn't get any response, hence we're posting it here to share our traumatic experience with ordering from this place. We've ordered a bunch of times from different Bay Area restaurants over last decade but we never experienced such an incident where the restaurant delivered meat instead of veg dish. Hopefully other people don't have to experience this fate when...

I had a very disappointing experience at Curry and Kebab in San Mateo.

The server was unfriendly and unprofessional from the beginning. I asked for the Wi-Fi password multiple times, and he refused to provide it. He never once checked in to see how my food was, and instead, I saw him arguing with the kitchen staff.

The food itself was also poor. I ordered chicken tikka masala, and while the sauce tasted good, the chicken pieces were so tough they were nearly impossible to eat—I ended up leaving most of it. The butter naan was good, but that was the only highlight.

To make things worse, the glass of water I was given was dirty, so I had to order bottled water instead.

Ironically, when I asked for the bill at the end, the server suddenly became polite and in a better mood—but the overall experience had already been ruined. Despite this, I still left a 20% tip out of principle, though I truly did not feel the service was deserving of it.
