Oceanic Restaurant — Restaurant in San Mateo

One of the best take-out spots this side of The Peninsula!

When I came here I ordered the chicken chow mien and orange chicken. Each entree was about $11 but it was worth it. I ordered to go and both entrees came in a circular black plate with a plastic lid. Some may consider reusing the plate after washing it as it is fit to serve a variety of other uses, a nice bonus in my opinion.

The orange chicken was tangy with a hint of orange from the slices it was cooked with (which is something that other places lack). The chicken was crunchy on the outside and soft in the inside. It resulted in a wholesome part of the meal. The orange chicken was cooked with tiny strips of onion that further emphasized it’s great flavor.

The chicken chow mien was also pretty good, as it proved to be a hearty entree with plenty of vegetables. The flavor was enjoyably salty and it kept making me want more.

The soy sauce and fortune cookies come within a tiny bag that includes a copy of the menu and some chopsticks. I also got some complementary egg-rolls and dipping sauce with my order. It was much appreciated!

I will definitely come back here when I have the chance. Keep up...

I tried to express my excellent experience with oceanic restaurant through yelp but yelp Failed me miserably for wasting my honestly good review and lost it. So now im using this google review and hope other customers will see it. As a visitor from other state and staying at the hotel so far this restaurant is the Best chinese restaurant to me! Its been raining hard since yesterday out here and hence the dalay. Kevin handled the situation very well ( esp. dealing with difficult person like me ) and provided an exceptional customer service and offered me a free lunch special meal and delivered my food to my hotel personally! The food was unexpectedly delicious and I cant believe i finished it all! I cant wait to try their other dishes next time im in the area. The food never ceases to be quality here, always so fresh & good! It's take out only, but free delivery within a couple of miles if you spend at least $20. And they always add in a little something "on the house". Also, the lady who answers the phone is always so nice & polite, truly good-natured. I tell her "thank you", and she immediately says, " oh but thank YOU!!" That means so much.. These days no one seems to appreciate the people that keep their businesses going.. They just wanna take your money, and the snot-nosed sense of entitlement is overwhelming! You say thank you & they say you're welcome, like they're doing you a big favor!
