Sibby's Cupcakery — Restaurant in San Mateo

Finally found a fantastic place for all my custom cupcake needs! I was referred to Sibby's by a coworker and was immediately impressed with their website. I found exactly what I was looking for under their custom design page (train themed cupcakes), and was thrilled to see they offered 3 different sizes and customization of flavors by the half dozen. I called my order in because I had some questions about delivery versus pickup given my event was on a day they were closed. The staff was friendly and accommodating, helping me get my order in and recommending flavors based on popularity. I ended up doing 2 dozen regular, 2 dozen mini, and a jumbo.

About a week before, I called to confirm my pickup time and day of, I went to collect the cupcakes. Pickup was fast and easy - pull up, call them, they bring the order to your car. Ample parking near the storefront as well. The cupcakes turned out better than I even imagined! The designs were flawless and they tasted even better. I ordered way more thinking we'd have leftovers but they flew off the plates! Will definitely be using Sibby's for all my future events - and ordering extra...

Love this little shop- I'm usually not a fan of cupcakes but Sibby's always manages to always strike the perfect balance between frosting & cake. Not only is their frosting art super cute and creative (seriously, check out their Instagram- they come up with such wonderful designs!), it tastes great- never overly sweet and tastes great (sometimes frosting at other places is too sweet and makes me feel sick). Sibby's frosting is delightfully flavorful and used in a perfect ratio to the cupcake! It's easy to tell the cupcakes are always freshly baked - they have that "fresh out of the oven" fluffiness! Sibby's makes both mini and large cupcakes, and if you just want to drop by to pick some up on a whim, you can. (Perfect for people like me who forget to plan ahead... however if you have a really large order, it'd probably be best to call ahead so they can make sure they have enough of all the flavors...

I knew this place via Google search. I was finding a bakery to buy some cupcakes for my son’s 3rd birthday which would be celebrated in his preschool, and I needed 20 cupcakes. I saw some bakeries in the area and this place had the most positive reviews, but most of all, it is a NUT-FREE cupcakery and I liked the cupcakes in their photos, both from the store and the customers.

I was surprised we couldn’t go inside the store after arriving. Nevertheless, I exchanged conversation with one staff at the store and told her what I needed. 20 cupcakes for kids in regular size since they also have mini and jumbo size. Then, I waited for 5 minutes and my order was ready. They sealed the boxes so I couldn’t take a peek inside (I was afraid I would spoil the cupcakes), but I got positive feedbacks from the teachers and the kids. They all liked it.
