Cute little place. Totally mom and pop style, was in town for business so decided to try. They do not have a fresh Wassabi and server did not know what that was but that's okay.... Ordered bunch of sushi, sashimi and katsu because I love katsu...
There were two servers, the first one was a skinny lady, and while she had no idea what fresh wasabi was but she was nice. The other server, not so much... After we were served, they really didn't check up on anything nor asks how their food was. Maybe they knew... After a while, the other server came and asked if we are ready for the check. I replied asking we haven't gotten all our food yet... (Katsu) And she said everything has been served... And i said no. We orderd katsu... And she said we dont serve katsu. So I said fine, give me the check.
She brought check and we paid and as we were leaving, first server, nice one came up and said shes sorry dor forgetting katsu... Lol. So they do sell katsu....
On top of that. Their food quality is all over the place. Their tuna tartar was amazing!!! But their Tuna sashimi was so chewy, that i had a bite on the 1 of 3 pieces and could not eat the other 2 pieces... Not something you expect from sushi place with a la carte menu...
Overall, it was very disappointing experience. I rarely give 1 star to anyone but this place...
Read moreIkoi Sushi is a very small, cozy and unassuming sushi restaurant nestled at the end corner amongst a small strip mall. While it doesn't have much capacity inside, it definitely adds to the charm of the overall experience. This was my first visit for a small takeout dinner on a Friday night. Ordering over the phone was very easy, the staff member was very polite and helpful explaining which vegetarian options/ingredients were available for one person's order. Plus, I could tell they were busy, which we truly appreciate. There wasn't a long period of wait time. The food was especially memorable, and refined to most by comparison in this area. Everything was perfectly delicious our first time around so we decided to come back to dine inside another time. The rice itself has good texture and flavor (on some of the nigiri), great quality, flavorful, balanced, with fresh ingredients. Every single bite was memorable...
Read moreVery disappointing. The waitress who seemed very nice suggested the one of the most expensive things on the menu, Beef Teriyaki, it was terrible. Fatty, gristley, no flavor, and no teriyaki sauce. I also ordered the Tempura. It might have been good if it was properly cooked, but there was raw batter between the shrimp and crispy coating. The rice wasn’t good either. They didn’t salt the water. No amount of Soy Sauce could improve it. The Miso soup was good and the salad too was ok. The sauces and salad dressing was good. But all in all, not worth the money. I will never eat there again. A waste of money. Very upsetting in these tough times.’ Parking is good because who what’s to eat...
