Panchitos Restaurant — Restaurant in San Rafael

On the strength of the Google reviews, my husband and I chose to have lunch at Panchitos. We're from out of town but we visit Marin County usually about 4 times per year. We are delighted to have found Panchitos because we really love good Mexican food. And now we've found our go-to spot whenever we're in the area and would like to have Mexican cuisine. The restaurant is nice decorated inside, the atmosphere festive. We were welcomed by the owner and his wife and the service was very good too. There are a lot of choices. We chose to share the chicken and steak fajitas. Someone before me mentioned the salsa served with the chips. It is delicious and tastes homemade to me! We liked everything about our meal. The fajitas were sizzling and delicious and I bet the flour tortillas are freshly made too. Yum! We will be back. My family has been coming here for years and I gotta say it's one of my favorite places in the entirety of Marin, maybe even California in general.

This restaurant is very family friendly and welcoming, the owners Leo and Jeff clearly love what they do. I've noticed they treat people like family and it's so nice with all the chain restaurants and things growing more and more impersonal.

As for the food? Its fantastic, in a word. There's a little something for everyone and it's all reasonably priced and absolutely delicious. Personally? I cant reccomend the shrimp quesadilla enough! It's the ultimate comfort food. Sometimes we'll order the flan to share and descend on it like piranhas.

I'm in town for work and see decide to try to find a good local gem and I definitely found one. Very low key, and the staff knew most the customers, which is always a good sign. Service was amazingly prompt and friendly with things refilled or brought out with perfect timing. Chips and salsa (especially the chips) were excellent. For dinner I selected the chicken fajitas. The chicken was marinated and seasoned incredibly well resulting in flavorful moist meat. Veggies were cooked just right with great corn tortillas.
