Sonora Market & Taqueria — Restaurant in San Rafael

I used to like this place. The Mexican food is mediocre at best. On par with Taco Bell. But it's close to my house and the prices are OK. Well I won't go back. Tonight when I went for dinner I ordered what I always order. I usually get stuffed. Nice portions. Not tonight. Super small portion on a smaller plate. I had to ask for the complimentary chips and salsa after my food arrived. I like to munch while I wait for my meal. I was never asked if I wanted anything to drink. I was going to have a couple of beers. I didn't order beer. Nothing. Restaurants make most of their profits on beverages. Duh! I'll be trying other restaurants in the area from now on. I am now forever in love with this taqueria. The food was completely delicious and very fresh tasting. The service though was off the hook. Me and my kids went to check the menu between pool sessions across the street. They took down our order as I was quizzing the kids on what they wanted and then asked what time we'd be done with swimming. I told them and they said---'we'll have the food ready for you then.' They declined my offer to pre-pay and only charged me when we came back two hours later. From now on any trip to the Terra Linda pool will include a meal there....

First time ordering from this establishment and after found out that half the order was incorrect. We called to advise he said half our order was incorrect and the employee on the phone blamed us for not checking and did nothing to try to resolve the problem & wanted us to pay again for the correct food. Guess this place is doing so well it can lose business over a $20 error and blame the customer. Lastly when we placed the order we asked if they wanted a name and they said no need to. Great way to end the week. NEVER GOING TO SONORA...
