Pho — Restaurant in San Rafael

Finally... I feel like the North Bay has been waiting for a spot like Pho for decades now. There are a lot of Vietnamese restaurants in Marin County, and this place takes the cake. Taste and quality of ingredients are both A+.

My go-to meal there is the chả giò (fried egg rolls, A1) and phở tái (rare sliced beef pho, B1).

And what I like about Pho is that it doesn't feel like a North Bay restaurant (i.e. overpriced dishes that don't feel "fully" authentic); the place actually gives me SoCal or Sacramento vibes.

Before today I was certain that there were no good Vietnamese restaurants in Marin. Then I tried Pho. What a find.

Very simple basic menu, but everything was perfect. Flavorful, fresh, generously sized, good service. Everything was right. We are talking San Francisco - San Jose level of excellence for Vietnamese food. I used to think you had to go to the City to find great Vietnamese food, But now we have it local here in San Rafael. The other Vietnamese restaurants around town can't even compare. This restaurant is now on my short list. Coming...

This place makes the BEST PHO I have EVER had in my life!! The broth is seasoned to perfection. The vegetables are always so crisp and fresh! The Daikon is my favorite! The service is absolutely amazing! Fast and efficient and they do not skimp on the bowls!! And all for an EXTREMELY affordable price!! Nothing like all these other overpriced, underseasoned places on Marin. The staff are all so professional, kind, and accomodating. The best part, besides the Pho, is the music and the atmosphere!!
