So excited for this new place in Marin! First of all, finally a Dosa place in Marin!!

Second, fantastic actually delicious vegan options, in addition to what’s marked on the menu, they make curries vegan too, and add some coconut milk to it too so it’s nice and rich, but without too much coconut taste. They have a ton of options for appetizers, including hire protein ones, with great vegan chutneys. Can’t wait to try more.

Third — really cool fusion options! I’ve only tried Dosa tacos (not tocos;) typo on the menu) so good! Appreciate the creativity, and it was really delicious. Very flavorful dosa too. The space itself seems pretty traditional, but the menu is fun and playful, and on par with hip places in SF, IMO.

Fourth— genuinely delicious balanced food. Like I mentioned, vegan options are nice and rich, with good balance of fats, creaminess, sourness - all ingredients that make food taste great but often are missing when it’s just removing dairy / meat ingredients vs designing a dish around being plant based. My husband who is vegetarian and spent a long time in India enjoyed his dairy containing food very much too.

And finally fifth — we went there with a hangry toddler, stuff was super sweet with her, and accommodating, including helping me pick up things as I was dropping everything while trying to wrangle the child around. Not only that, but she loved the food and had a great time, quickly warming up and enjoying saying hello to everyone.

All in all I hope this place gains popularity it deserves! Highly recommend trying it, at least based on my first experience it’ll become my go to Indian...

Saturday, December 28 coming in for the first time, The atmosphere the warm welcoming the concern of the waiters was definitely profound and highlighted upfront. Leave from the door to the area of seating gave a Wonderful explanation of the buffet outline on Saturdays they serve an optional dosa, pancake, complementary served in five different types of Toppings, The quality of the food was up to far warm flavorful delicious well seasoned very considerate of the spice level as well not too spicy nor too less, would love to expand/expound on the variety of the dishes served, but ultimately encompassed all the dishes that are within the Desi culture of culinary they serve warm, hot bread upon request in different flavors whether it be butter or with garlic or other options upon request, all you can drink mango lesi was delicious would love to go into more detail with all the finite aspects of the restaurant in their buffet however, for the sake of Riding, such a extensive review one should go and see for themselves take their family take their guests, friends, and experience the number one buffet here in town of San Rafael have eaten other Indian buffets locally but they’re not of the same top-tier service that this restaurant here provided to us. One of the waiters explained to us that their buffet does Change with the variety. There are about three dishes that are will always be served in our lunch buffet, but the other eight or nine options change daily seven days a...

Taj of Marin is under new ownership. The new restaurant is called Suvai. It’s amazing. We’ve been coming to Taj and even the previous restaurant Bombay in the same location for many many years. The food at Suvai is incredible and the decor after a month of renovations are awesome.

The management and staff are all incredibly welcoming and warm and they have beautiful Indian music playing throughout the lunch.

They do lunch buffet seven days a week and dine in option only for dinner.

The butter, chicken, chicken tikka Masala, and chicken tandoorisome of the best we’ve had. And we’ve eaten a lot of Indian food.

There are tons of choices and the Biryanis ( veg, chicken) and goat curry were all spectacular.

There are too many other dishes to mention, but their choices and the caliber of their food are as good as you’ll find in Marin county.

We will be back again and again and again. If you are looking for a great Indian restaurant, get yourself to Suvai. You’ll...

Suvai Taste of India exceeded all my expectations! From the moment we walked in, the attentive service made us feel truly welcomed. The staff were friendly, quick, and went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. The food was absolutely delicious and full of authentic flavors that transported us straight to India. Every dish was prepared with care, and the quality was evident in every bite. The highlight of my visit, though, was the rose milk—an absolute treat! It was fragrant, refreshing, and the perfect way to end a fantastic meal. The ambiance was cozy and inviting, making it a great spot for both casual meals and special occasions. I highly recommend Suvai Taste of India to anyone looking for an authentic and memorable dining experience. We’ll definitely be coming back soon!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant and was thoroughly impressed by the experience. The highlight of my meal was undoubtedly the dosa. The dosa was perfectly crisp on the outside and soft on the inside, just as it should be. It was served with a trio of chutneys and a piping hot sambar, each bursting with authentic flavors. The portion size was generous, making it a satisfying meal. The staff was attentive and friendly, ensuring that our dining experience was enjoyable from start to finish. If you're a fan of Indian cuisine or looking to try something new, I highly recommend visiting this restaurant and indulging in their California Manchurian. You won't be disappointed!

Best Indian buffet in town. The spices and selection are not just the typical Indian fare. The vegetable and meat dishes were delicious and fresh. They have free coffee AND chai. (Check out the photos!) The samosas were good but could be crunchier and include potato/pea filling. I should also mention the staff were wonderful, checking on us regularly. We loved the 90s Indian music, too; the volume was just right. The buffet menu changes regularly so (although we were satisfied and happy) we will check back for days they also have fish. We give this place an A and will come back weekly.
