Snowy Owl,
Man oh man do I have a love hate relationship with your coffee shop in Sandwich.
Your coffee is delicious. So good I can not recommend the coffee enough. As a fellow peruvian you're empanadas are delicious as well, when available. I truly wish you guys would put out a news letter about what flavor of empanadas are going to be available on what day. I have tried for many, many months showing up at 11, or 12 and they're already sold out. Please make the amount that your clientel is demanding, especially if we're showing up within the hour they're "released" and they're already sold out, its getting ridiculous.
I had lived in San Francisco for a few years. When i talk about pretencious people working at coffee shops, I feel like I have seen it all, but your workers really take the cake. The many times I have been there, my friends and I have been talked to like we're inconveniencing the workers when ordering or requesting some assistance (like asking for a little bit more cream for my coffee. If it's such a big deal put out the cream for your workers/customers convenience).
Just a few examples:
I order something that was advertised in your display case and i get told rudely "what you see is what you get" with the most are you stupid expression on the workers face. What about an answer like, "I'm so sorry were all sold out"
I asked for a simple hot black americano and a black cold brew. The lady abruptly stopped me putting her hand out like a stop sign, overwhelmed, shaking her head in frustration "wait give me a second". There's nothing wrong with that! But there is a manner on how to speak to people. How about "I'm sorry to interrupt, but I didn't catch what you said." or "Could you repeat what you said?" or "I want to make sure i got the order right."
Another time I ordered a black cold brew and the worker said to me in the most inconvenienced tone, pointing to the fridge behind me that, "We have cans in the fridge." and I just looked at her and said "I'm still ordering a large cold brew thank you" if I wanted to get the can in the fridge I would have.
to go along with the newsletter recommendation, here's my example of me feeling like i wasted me time. I went there early on a Friday at 1030, in hope to try the specialty empanadas. I was told previously by the workers, this is when they are set out for the weekend. I asked the cashier when are your chicken/beef empanadas going to be ready. She said in 30 min at 11. So I sat and waited because everytime I go there at the time or an hour after release they are sold out. At 11am I go up to the counter and requested them. They tell me that they did not make them at all that day. I was so frustrated and disappointed like I just wasted my time waiting there because they decided not to make them.
I unfortunately have plenty more examples I can write about. I can probably go to your coffee shop right now and get another example.
You may wonder why I keep going there. I truly do love your coffee, ambiance, the quality of your empanadas and I also purchase your beans for my home use. I am writing this in hope that you read this and take the criticism so this place could be more of a positive experience. I am just so tired of your workers attitude and the rude experience every single time I go there.
disclaimer ...im not this empanada cookie monster. as a peruvian, i just want a good empanada and you guys have them... but don't.
Maybe being treated like an inconvenience is the price to pay for a good...

As a consumer with celiac disease, I always like to comment on GF options. Caveat: I did not come here for food, and didn't expect GF options here. I was surprised to notice there was a gluten-free pumpkin bread available! Sadly, it was in the same case as non-GF items. It didn't instill any confidence in me that care was taken in preparation to avoid cross contact, so I skipped on sampling it #celiaclife (gluten-loving husband bought it, and gave rave reviews). But it's a good option for those who avoid gluten for reasons other than celiac/allergies.
However! If Snowy Owl would like to go the extra step to make their GF option available to those with celiac disease or wheat/gluten allergies, my recommendation would be to 1) prepare the gluten-free item in a dedicated GF space/kitchen and mark it as such on signage, if it isn't already (or order from somewhere that has a dedicated GF kitchen), and 2) wrap the items individually and keep on a shelf above/separate space from gluten-containing items to avoid coming in contact with wheat/crumbs. I understand the struggle of catering to any type of allergy, not something every business can do, and I never expect it. But since I saw an effort made to cater to GF coffee shop lovers (kudos!), I figured I'd add my two cents! (I think I also noted some pre-packaged snacks that might have been GF as well, maybe the crisped rice treats and granola bars? If I was actually looking for food I would have checked.)
The coffee that I had was DELICIOUS, and there are dairy-free milk options. Come for the great vibes and...
