Update- A Magical Tea Experience Like No Other!
I cannot say enough wonderful things about this tearoom! From the moment you walk in, you’re transported to a whimsical world where every detail has been thoughtfully curated. I attended one of their specialty themed events, and it was truly unforgettable. They host everything from Harry Potter teas and villains-themed afternoons to Witches Brew gatherings, and each one feels like stepping into a storybook.
Every guest receives their own teapot wrapped in a cozy, which not only keeps the tea warm but adds an extra touch of charm to the experience. The tea selection is incredible—floral blends, rich black teas, fruity infusions, seasonal specials—you name it. The staff are knowledgeable and always happy to offer recommendations based on your taste.
The food presentation is absolutely beautiful. Each person is served their own three-tiered tray filled with sweet and savory delights. The bottom tier typically has savory bites like tea sandwiches, quiches, or mini pastries. The middle tier often includes the main course selections—fresh scones, small warm items, and flavorful options that fit the theme of the event. The top tier is where the magic really shines—decadent desserts, themed treats, and artistic pastries that look almost too pretty to eat.
What sets this place apart is the atmosphere and effort they put into every event. Costumes, themed music, décor, place settings—even the names of the teas and treats reflect the theme.
The service is warm, friendly, and attentive without ever being intrusive. You can tell the staff truly enjoy what they do and take pride in creating an enchanting experience for every guest.
If you’re looking for a unique outing with friends, a mother-daughter day, a birthday celebration, or just want to treat yourself to something special, this tearoom is an absolute must-visit. I’m already planning my next visit and can’t wait to attend another themed tea event....
Read moreI was so very disappointed today. I took our cousin to the Dunbar Tearoom for what I had bragged about, being a wonderful and delicious experience. We were the only ones in the original tea room, when we arrived. Our waitress took some time getting our order, but our hopes were high. We ordered hot teas. When they came we asked if we could have our scones while we waited for our entrees. Other people had arrived and were seated in our room. Their orders were taken, teas and food arrived for them. We continued to wait. My hot tea was not "right" and tasted bitter. But not to delay lunch I asked the waitress to remove the tea items. I asked if I could please have more water, which was filled once. We were still waiting for our scones at this point. Finally, the scones arrived. We enjoyed them with the hope that lunch would follow. People around us were served, ate and were leaving. The table next to us received one correct order and a wrong order. The wrong order was removed, and 10 minutes later the correct one arrived. Those people turned to us and said they did not realize we were still waiting for lunch. I considered asking for the check and leaving, but my cousin really wanted her order. We believed it couldn't be much longer. We stopped another waitress and she went to check on things for us. Seems they lost our order. Eventually, cousin's open face chicken and cheddar arrived and my bisque. I would have enjoyed more water, but decided it was not to be. When we received our check, I did discover my tea was not the one I ordered, hence the unappealing flavor. As we left no one was at the desk or I would have discussed this with them. Too bad, this experience was my second poor one here. I had hoped it could revive and be a go-to-place to take friends and visitors; As it had been in the past. This unhappy experience happened another time with my husband therefore he declined to come today....
Read moreMy Mom threw my bridal shower here and from day one the owner was cold and made it a very uncomfortable experience. I have always loved the Dunbar since I was a little girl and I thought that my bridal event there would have gone a lot differently. When visiting before booking, we had lunch there and when leaving we started asking some questions and off the bat the owner seemed rude and uninterested. We gave her the benefit of the doubt that it might’ve been a bad day and since I loved the spot we still decided to go with the venue for my shower. Then in the months to come when we asked questions to the owner about balloons, set up of the room, the number of tables, and table cloths (which are all normal things to have questions about when you are having an event at a venue) she acted as if we were so bothersome to her. She even seemed demeaning to my mother stating “she already stated this information in her contract” after asking a simple question and she was so just so unhelpful. It seemed as if we were tip toeing around her when WE were paying her to host this event. If you are running a tea shop you would think you would have a passion for making peoples celebrations of big milestones in their life important and special and Kate could not of cared less nor did she even greet us to say hello when we arrived or ask if we needed anything the entire party we were there she sat at the bar the entire event and when leaving she did not even bother to wish us well or goodbye or anything. As a business owner myself I was disgusted with the way she treated us when we could not have been anything but nice to her and were supporting HER business. It is sad that Dunbar is ran by someone who is not passionate and does not care for their customer service. There are many beautiful tea rooms that I would highly recommend so when planning an event I would...
