Thursday evening dinner was disappointing! (NO hot water in the restroom, incompetent, inconsiderate wait staff) They weren't crowded,(about 6:30 pm) but the service would make you think otherwise. My family was seated, immediately, We weren't offered a choice to sit in a cushioned booth or a table with hard unattractive wooden chairs. We sat on the chairs with menus, not even water for 15 minutes. I finally got the staffs attention when our teenager decided we should move to a booth (at little over 10 minutes). We took our menus, and silverware to the booth. Finally, a member of the wait staff asked how we were doing. I informed her that we were thirsty, hungry and had been ready to order. It took over 15 minutes for the time we were seated before we were able to get a glass of water! Our waitress did finally bring water but don't expect a lemon wedge. If you ORDER a beer, it's offered in the menu in a mug or pitcher. You evidently have to specify exactly glass it needs to be served. When the waitress asks draft or bottled. You must have to tell the waitress to use a mug. She brought draft in a water glass ( it looks to be about 7oz.) not in a mug as stated on the menu. A frosted mug would have been nice. The over priced beer would've been more acceptable if it had been served in what the menu states or an appealing container. It gets WORSE. The restroom where employees use as well, has NO HOT WATER, not even warm! It does have automated touch less faucets and a high speed dryer. I was repulsed. It's not even legally acceptable. We ordered an appetizer, salads, pizza and a sub sandwich. Salads were brought with the pizza. It has been my experience the salad is usually served before your main entrées . You will not be offered a choice of salad dressing. The waitress will bring you whatever she wants you to have) The taste and temperate of food was good. It is overpriced. But be aware the service has much to be desired. We would've been better off calling in an order. I wouldn't have found out there is no way to properly clean your hands in the restroom, and the wait staff is incompetent. I wouldn't have been served appetizers with entrées. It will be a long while before I eat there, again. I hope the employees used proper handwashing technique before handling food. I've decided to think positive that they have the ability and adequate way to cleanse thier hands before handling food. I WANT TO BE SURE the restrooms have HOT WATER. Hopefully, the employees use proper handling washing after toileting. The fact the restroom doesn't have hot water for anyone to wash thier hands...
Read moreTo start off, walking in, the first thing my wife and I thought was it needed some updates. It's not terrible, but it could use a touch up. The servers were very friendly and sat us down right away , raking our orders which isn't saying much because there weren't many people there to begin with. It took us a minute to decide what we wanted to get because the menus also need some updating. Images on the menus are always helpful but virtually nothing was actually explained very well. While we waited to determine what we wanted to eat, we went ahead and ordered the kids food which was a simple kids spaghetti with meat sauce. Me thinking it's a really nice Italian restaurant. The meat sauce should be pretty good, but I was sorely mistaken. Tasted like an 89 cent jar of food Lion brand meat sauce on half cooked noodles. First disappointment of the evening. Then my wife and I ordered food. Hoping that everything else would taste great. She ordered the shrimp Alfredo and I ordered The waiters recommendation which was penne pasta with three chicken breasts with a buttered tomato type sauce. My dish was great except for the penne wasn't fully cooked. My wife's dish... That had to be the most bland alfredo sauce I have ever tasted. And they only gave her five shrimp in total. That is hardly worth the $18 that I paid for. We also discovered that combining my sauce with the Alfredo sauce created a fantastically good cheesy buttery sauce that I think the restaurant should try to incorporate into their menu. All in all probably will not come back here unless I really crave that...
Read moreWe went late one night for take out. We ordered "baked ziti" and a "sicilian pie." we aren't picky eaters, but this was vomit in your mouth disgusting. I'm from Texas, and my husband is from NY. The "baked ziti" was drowning in tomato sauce... it was a soup. It was definitely not baked. Maybe they threw in a can of tomatoe sauce over pasta? Since we came 40 min before closing time? And there was ricotta just trown in. Everything was so runny and gross. We were mixing the soup around and saw there were maybe 10 pasta noodles in the container. On top of that, the sauce had no flavor, was very bland, and the texture was off. The "sicillian" pizza was mostly bread. It was very dry, very dry, the complete opposite of the "baked ziti" The onion on top of the pie was raw, and there was little to no cheese. I can't imagine why people can eat here... oh, and the service wasn't great. When telling the lady our order, she told us the pizza would cost the same as getting a custom pizza..... but it wasn't. I saw it was cheaper to get a custom pizza since we just wanted 2 toppings vs. ordering a pizza and removing like 3 other toppings. She was charging us for the more expensive pizza and adding notes to remove the other toppings we didn't want. When we came back to pick up the food, a different waitress came out and said, "Hey, we are confused about the receipt. Did you want to add a tip? Because the amount you wrote was less than the total amount." It wasn't very welcoming. I just had La Dolce Vita Pizzeria recently after, and the food actually tasts like...
