Read moreI would be interested in learning the history of this location, because it's clearly been a part of Sanger for some time. There are plaques of recognition on the wall, and you get a sense of history in this place. When you enter the restaurant, there's a small cashier and overhead menu to the left for ordering hot food. To the right is a larger room to sit and eat and to also peruse floor-to-ceiling shelves stacked with a dizzying amount of Mexican pastries to choose from.
However, this place also doubles as a Catholic store, with all free space dedicated to statuettes of angles, saints, Jesus, etc. The result is a cramped, dusty establishment that's trying to be 2 different things. I know I'm biased, but I would have preferred if this place would just focus on being a restaurant/bakery. The food was good though. Hot...
Read moreIt's been a long time since I've been here. The food and baked items are still absolutely delicious. Was told it's changed ownership, but still has the same little lady making the burritos.
But the lady taking orders and working the register seemed to be in a real bad mood. Perhaps because it was Sunday. But she definitely didn't want to be there. She was moderately rude to my wife for adding a burrito to our order. Writing down the order and yelling it to the person actually doing physical work (making the food) appeared to require far more effort than she was wanting to do that day.
Side note: other people said she's this way pretty frequently. Must be related to the new owners. The bakery has been a staple for a long time. And it's sad to see so many long time customers get treated poorly...
