Boba Junkie — Restaurant in Santa Ana

I was kinda put off by how you have to order but wasn’t going to leave a review based just on that. Then I got my drink and I’m sorry to leave a bad review but it was bad. It sucks that you have to use their kiosk to order because if you are lot familiar with it other costumers can essentially cut you in line. I have gotten boba all over OC and not once have I gotten a strawberry drink and it not have any strawberry taste at all. All I wanted was strawberry milk with boba and strawberry popping boba. Which is a menu item. When ordering you can’t just pick strawberry milk you have to pick a tea so I picked green tea. If that’s the case then call it strawberry milk tea. I have no idea what the flavor was but it wasn’t strawberry, milk or green tea. All the boba just sat at the bottom and would not suck up into the straw. The consistency of the drink was of water. I hard to take a huge gulf just to get 1-2 boba in my mouth. The pooping boba had no flavor or it was overpowered by whatever flavor the drink was and the boba all had hard bits in the middle. I shouldn’t have to pay for such a poor quality drink, especially if it didn’t taste like...

They have an order kiosk, to help with less interaction and probably still be used after COVID since it's somewhat efficient (a couple folks before us did take a bit to get through the menu and order). They take cash but it seems easier to just pay with your card; didn't use the cash option. No sitting areas inside and the waiting areas are a bit cramped so if the line is too long, people wait outside. You can also order through the app if the line is too long. Service: was ok, not much interaction. Food: the drink was good (got the Thai Tea, with extra boba and 75% sweetness). Boba was soft. Cost: $11 for 2...

Parking: They’re located in a medium sized plaza. There’s plenty of free parking.

Ambiance/Environment: They have a very small space inside with three stool seats. You can order via the kiosks or order at the register.

Service: We ordered at the register since it was our first time. I had a few questions about the menu. Andrea and Rosemary took our order, and they were quick and efficient.

Drinks:

1. Premium Matcha Latte - I ordered this with 100% sugar and boba. It tasted decent .. premium matcha is a bit more bitter, but the sugar balanced it out. The boba tasted as expected.

2. Butterfly Pea Flower Lemonade - This was sooo refreshing. The flavors went well together.
