I’d come back, but I’m not sure if I’d go out of my way to come back. At our table, we ordered the crispy fish tacos, the Barbacoa taco, the mole taco, the Caesar salad, and the brisket, pastrami sandwich with tallo fries. We also shared some chili cheese fries. The tallo fries were good, but a bit overhyped: regular fries, not as crispy or warm as I’d like, with mid seasoning and not bombastic seasoning as I’d expected. I’d come back for the fish tacos and the mole tacos for sure. I don’t think I can be good critic for the pastrami Sando (I ordered it off recommendation but I’m not the biggest fan plus I hated the bit of horseradish it had), the chili fries (i like chili on its own, but not on fries) or the Barbacoa tacos (the person that ordered them loved them, but I didn’t because I don’t like Barbacoa meat). The Caesar salad was out of this world. Tangy and salty and creamy and cheesy all at the same time. The fish tacos with Macha sauce was the best thing we ordered. I got the summer love jumbo Pinot wine. 8/10 recommend it was so refreshing and I think a nice value and one of the reasons I’d come back. We also got the bibingka chocolate cake. Mmm idk, I see bibingka and start salivating. This was a rice-flour chocolate cake with hints of coconut. So I can see how someone can say “oh sorta tastes like a bibingka” but I wouldn’t say it’s deserving of the name. It’s delish but if you love bibingka to the point that you can eat it on a weekly basis, it’s a bit of a disappointing misnomer for the cake. It’s like being a donut lover and seeing a donut-dessert on the menu, but it only sorta tastes like a donut and it has a texture consistency that has very little to do with a donut. I’d come back for the tacos and the wine. Wine lovers would enjoy this establishment as the selections are unique and reflective...

I’ve been a huge Daniel Castillo fan; love Heritage BBQ so when I heard this spot had opened I was in town/in the area to see an Angels game I was like I must try. One of my California restaurant pet peeves is how single diners get treated. It’s always the bar no choice. I’d like to be treated like a regular customer not a piraya. I literally made a reservation weeks in advance I walk in immediately I am told all we have is counter seating. Everyone else with a reservation got a choice. I think it’s not okay I get I am a single person yet to just throw me at the counter seating without a choice is poor service. My waitress was friendly; I went with the “famous” patty melt. It came out pretty quick. It was very cheesy yet the execution fell flat. The burger itself ran that line between raw and cooked very close parts of the middle were still raw. The patty melt itself didn’t have much flavor it just fell flat for me (caramelized onions and pickles the sauce which there wasn’t much of it wasn’t very flavorful maybe if there’d been more on the sandwich??). The standouts on the plate were the beef tallow fries and the house made ranch-yum!! Order a plate of those fries. Overall at $22 that’s pretty steep for lunch I’d maybe try their tacos if I stopped by again. It’s a fun happening spot hopefully can work on being more welcoming to single diners in the future. You definitely need a reservation to dine here; lots of street parking. Decent lunch or...

A diner with a fine dining flare. Everything was rich and flavorful, and I enjoyed the diner presentation of food, only to be surprised with taste and quality of the food. Service was phenomenal, as we were well taken care of. Parking is all street, but didn't have any trouble finding parking at all

Food- 5 stars Bread and butter- the sourdough bread was really good and hearty. Try to share it with a group of 4 or more, as it gets pretty heavy

Tuna tartarte- the tuna was solid, but they do a great job with carbs here. The chip that it came with was fantastic and it was a perfect complement to the tuna

pork and peas- I wanted to try some of the Heritage BBQ aspect of the restaurant and went with this dish. Excellently smoked, not surprised. It doesn't blow you away, but very solid

Potatoes- crispy and flavorful, with the help of that beef tallow. Very enjoyable and hearty

Service- 5 stars Our server was fantastic. Excellent with explaining the menu and making sure we were always taken care of

Bottom Line Enjoyed the unique vibe of the restaurant. Definitely something worth trying and expect a...
