Okay...I am happy to say this one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in Santa Ana. I have been here many times because I enjoy the authentic Mexican flavors in their dishes. I finally was able to bring one of my best friends here to try Camarones a la Diabla, which basically translates to spicy shrimp. The food here was delicious. I did not know what to expect when I walked in. Instead I was greeted by a very nice and friendly server. The chips and salsa was really, really good. I could have had just that as a meal. The molcajete was delicious and very well served, lots of meat and a steaming delicious salsa to go with it. All ingredients within were delicious. I had the 7 mares. While not the biggest portion I've had it was just average in size but not average in flavor. It was steaming hot served in a metal bowl that retains the heat well. Los Portales Mexican Foods is absolutely the best for delicious Mexican cuisines for all sorts in Santa Ana. I have been here many times for a variety of occasions that range from grabbing lunch to large catering events. I really enjoy their Asada and fish tacos.
