Potzolcano — Restaurant in Santa Ana

First there was a 30 minute wait time with about 10 empty tables. Then we waited 15 minutes before given a menu in a practically empty restaurant. Our drink order was taken but we got our food before our drinks OR napkins ever arrived. We asked for the check and the waitress forgot and I had to go get her as she was in the patio where there were plenty of empty tables but no customers. As I waited for the check, we heard knocking and another customer was locked in the bathroom. We mentioned it to the waitress that the bathroom door locked patrons from within. She replied that there is nothing she can do as the owner doesn't care and won't fix it. I replied by saying you should put a sign, OR when you hand the bathroom key advise of issues with the door (simple disclaimer use at your own risk). She declined and said it was up the owner not her. SMH . . . Then as we were STILL waiting for the check I OBSERVED A RAT LEAVING THE PATIO ALONG THE FRONT DOOR! I had not eaten anything there because I didn't trust the food, but my mother and auntie wanted to try the food. I told them when I paid I observed the last inspection was in 2021 and I had seen a RAT! I most definitely DO NOT RECCOMEND this restaurant, plus paying $50 +taxes for 2 bowls of pozole, some lousy appetizer, and a jug of jamaica. Not worth it AT ALL. Save your time,...

So the food is fine nothing amazing but not horrible, the price is a little high but nothing crazy. What kills me about this place is the wait time. I never go there to sit and eat I always order to go. However they don't have a system for to-go orders. If you want an order to-go you still have to put your name on their wait to be seated line, and refuse to take your order even if you explain you aren't there to dine in. With how busy the place is its always at minimum an hour wait. They do have a phone number listed, so why not call ahead for a pick up order right? We'll the number is just a display in all my years of coming here never once have they answered their phone. Granted I've only ever come on weekends so it might be a different story during the work week but I doubt it. I've also called while waiting outside to be "seated"(read as place an order) and you can hear the phone ring but you will never see anyone attempt...

Went in yesterday for a late breakfast. And to say the least I was really disappointed, not even half way eating my pozole I found a hair in it. I told the waitress about it she took the bowl and she show to what i believe was the "manager/owner" and they were really "investigating" if it was an actual hair. So while doing this no one came to offer an apology or nothing. We got our bill and I was still being charge full price on my food. And again they didnt even bother to come back until we were ready to pay. Now I would have accepted an apology but all I was getting from the staff was nasty looks like I was the one to be blame that there was a hair. I will not...
