We really enjoyed our meal here. We went for lunch on a Friday, around 1p. There was no wait, and plenty of available seats. Service was quick and friendly. I had a Rajas con Queso and a Lengua taco. Partner ordered an Alambre plate. 3 tacos and a beer was just right for each of us. Lots of filling and good solid tortillas to hold everything.

Parking: There are several parking spots directly in front, if your timing is right. No parking lot. We got lucky. Hopefully you will too!

Seating: There are a few small tables and open counter seating inside, as well as some outdoor window stools where you sit out on the sidewalk and look in.

Dogs: We usually bring our dog out with us, but didn't this time because we weren't sure of the seating arrangement. Outdoor seating could work for a well behaved dog, or (like ours), in a stroller. Keep in mind the outdoor stools are shared with a sidewalk, and Milpas is a very busy street.

Side note: Me being curious about the name, I found this on the local website Siteline: "Pipeye’s motto (“Diga no a la pirateria!!”), written alongside the name, translates to “Say no to piracy,” which I assume reflects irritation with imitators." Followed by: "The Pipeye slogan is a cheeky homage to a popular anti-piracy phrase used in the 80’s and 90’s in film and...

Wow! One of the best Mexican meals my wife and I have shared in a long while, and we eat out a lot, and we make this stuff at home, and she is a chef and we lived in Oaxaca for two months one winter and ate a lot at the markets and street stalls. Huge bowl of posole, chock full of pork (rib, feet) and posole (hominy) with a side of garnish -- sliced cabbage, onion, radish, and corn chips. Amazing peppery broth. My bride (pictured) had mole poblano, a mole made with dried red Chiles over roasted chicken leg/breast with sesame seeds on top, plus peruano beans and white rice. Each of these dishes is priced under $15. Limited indoor seating, plus stools at counters outside. Mexican Coke for me, cerveza for her. 3-stars for service because you order at the register, and they run your food to you. Atmosphere is basic but elevated by the church-like sanctity of happy eaters, most of...

I rarely review anything but I felt compelled to review tacos pipeye.

The amazing prices, food/salsa quality are enough to easily warrant 5 stars, but the thing that stands out to me is the service. I swear; I’ve never been treated better at a order-at-the-counter food place, let alone a busy taqueria.

We asked the cashier about some of their meats, and he excitedly told us about it, and said “want to try it?” He then went back to the kitchen and brought out a couple strips of meat for us to try. I’ve never seen anything like it— This isn’t an ice cream shop with taster spoons!! We aren’t deserving of this amazing service!

I...

Good food, friendly people, homemade tortillas, great prices, and some unique menu items. I regret not stopping sooner. For a recent dinner we had a lengua taco (not bad), a shrimp taco (delicious sauce and homemade slaw), a pork belly taco (not bad, but it was tender cubes of pork. I was expecting a slab.) and I simply had to try the pork rind taco (yum!). My companion had the asada burrito and loved it. The sauce, cheese, rice, and perfectly marinated steak combined with the homemade tortilla was a winner. We will be going back without a doubt.
