i came to finally try their crab roe noodles to find out they changed owner or something but they only serve half their menu (these potstickers with stupid flavors [cheesy wagyu, cheesy shrimp, sweet chocolate banana] all plastered on AI posters on the wall) during lunch. disappointment, inconvenience, downgrade, and a waste of time. i was given sriracha when asked if i wanted chili oil. NO NO, sriracha is too sour to add to vinegar, especially if u attempt to take pride in your vinegar like they do here. this is basic for any shanghainese kitchen (although it seems they are not shanghai focused anymore, yet they are keeping some shanghai flavors on the menu). u must use chili oil. they dont even have the classic shanghai dishes like malantou anymore. only soda drinks and green tea cream drink avail when i was there. i hate this. 2 stars for taste and service. this has gone from a 4-star experience to 2-star. the other interior design is good but its all inherited from the previous business. i will update my rating if u listen to my feedback.
also a huge shame on valleyfair leadership to approve such a move. out of touch with their customer base. what business sense does it make nowadays to remodel a chinese restaurant to be less authentic? they might even have gotten rid of the new chinese ordering technology and replaced back with waiter ordering. not even a question of concept. u are cutting corners and trying to sell it off as an...
Read moreWe ordered five items: the avocado smoothie, chow mein, crab and pork pot stickers, kung pao chicken, and cucumber salad.
The smoothie and chow mein were both good. The cucumber salad was just average compared to others we’ve had, and the kung pao chicken at Panda Express is honesty better than this one. The pot stickers came with a strange sauce on the side that tasted off and really weird - we didn’t like that sauce at all. We asked for hot chili oil, but they didn’t have any which is unusual for a Chinese restaurant. They gave us a spicy sauce instead, but it was more like sriracha than chili oil.
The timing of the food was also odd. The kung pao chicken came out first, then the other dishes trickled out about five minutes apart. The chow mein arrived last about 20 minutes after the kung pao chicken which was not ideal
Also the cucumber salad is an appetizer and it came 2nd to last which is unusual for an appetizer… we wanted to get that first as you typically would for an appetizer
The server was nice so that was good but we still...
Read moreI never imagined there would be such an amazing Chinese restaurant inside Westfield Valley Fair! My friend and I were shopping at the mall when we randomly came across this hidden gem — and to our surprise, it turned out to be absolutely fantastic.
We ordered a combo meal that came with chow mein, sticks, and soup — all for just $18.95. The chow mein looked mouthwatering and was loaded with five types of fresh vegetables and tender meat. The stickss were incredibly flavorful, thanks to a unique house-made sauce crafted by the restaurant owner himself — seriously addictive! We also got the Bifengtang fried shrimp, which came with 12 big, fresh shrimp, perfectly crispy and bursting with flavor.
To finish off the meal, we tried their avocado yogurt smoothie with real chunks of fresh fruit. You can taste the real avocado and strawberries — it was not only delicious but also refreshing and nutritious.
The restaurant is spotless, and the atmosphere is cozy and inviting. I’m already looking forward to...
