Oh man. Let me tell you. This place is choice. I canât speak to their customer service or anything like that because indoor and outdoor dining is suspended, but I sure can rave about their tacos.
I needed catering (obviously obeying all the mandates in the same manner that our Democratic government does) on New Yearâs Day. Suddenly. Like, I didnât even have time to plan it. On NYE I went out and about, fishing through all my local taco favorites. They were either closed, or didnât want to work on the holiday.
I stopped at Starbucks for a tea, and to come up with a way to tell my wife it just ainât gonna happen without getting killed.
I look over, and like a shining light in the darkness, I see the broken green sign saying TACOS, and Padre. I think to myself âwhat the hell, some of the best tacos Iâve ever had came off a cart with three wheels and two pedals.â
I went in. Not impressed, but I figured Iâd ask anyway. At this point, Iâd settle for any tacos for the big day.
The hostess spoke English really well. Not a good omen. When she took my questions to the cook though (who later I find out is the owner), he clearly doesnât speak a lick of English. Faith restored.
Shocked when I find out theyâre willing to cater for me. Awesome. Deal done. Out of a grim curiosity, I ordered dinner there.
The tacos were amazing. Not only were the meat and tortillas on point, but the onions and cilantro were FINELY chopped. When I say fine, I mean super fine. Itâs clear someone who loves their craft is preparing this food.
The next day I show up to pick up 80 tacos. Iâm a tad disappointed when Iâm there ten minutes early and find that my food is already in tin containers, but if Iâm being honest, itâs just unreasonable to expect otherwise.
I get the food home and serve. Damnit. These F*G tacos are fantastic. Theyâre just as amazing as the fresh ones I got the night before.
Theyâve got two salsas. An orange one and a green one. You can tell theyâre home made and even the mild one is hotter than heck. I love it. My little white niece had to ice her lips, and went back for more five minute later. We laughed.
Iâve found my new taco place. Taco Padre is amazing, and theyâve permanently earned my business.
Thank you so much guys. There are so many Mexican restaurants around here, Iâm sorry it took me a year and a half to find you. Youâre it though. To have and to hold, âtill...
Read moreFood was absolutely terrible and was very expensive. We paid $50+ for three adult plates and a kids meal. I ordered a carne asada burrito and it was very dry. It came with the meat, rice and beans. The beans and rice tasted like they were days old and the meat was dry. The tortilla was very stiff and my meal was served on a styrofoam plateâŚ.the drinks are also expensive. Although we were greeted with a smile, we were stared at while eating making myself and my child uncomfortable. Definitely not a welcoming environment. Not to mention, this place was cash onlyâŚwhy? I donât recommend eating here if youâre expectations are high. Youâre better off dining at...
