Wanya Thai Restaurant — Restaurant in Santa Clarita

I have been a regular since Paul and family took over the location. This small location has changed owners over the past 20 years I've been old enough to remember eating in general. Wanya Thai is truly my favorite restaurant and not just because of how great the staff is. The food is incredible. True authentic Thai food when you want it and "Americanized" dishes to please everyone.

I have brought my whole family and all of my friends to this establishment. They are fast friendly and remember their customers. I have ordered nearly everything off of the menu and it has only changed slightly over the past 8 or so years since I've been ordering.

It may sound like an exaggeration and most people don't believe me, but I've ordered the "spicy chicken"(now the 'spicy chili' on the new menu) over 300 times. When I walk in the doors they call out to the cooks to fire it up for me upon seeing me. When I call in a delivery or pick up order they hear my voice and ask if I'm going to order a spicy chicken. About a month ago i was feeling really sick and I ordered a Tom Ka Gai(coconut chicken soup),cucumber salad and steamed dumplings. The woman taking my delivery order was new and I could tell. I finished my order and hung up. A minute later I got a call from the owner Paul and he wanted to make sure my order was correct because I didn't order the Spicy Chicken. I told him I wasn't feeling well and the soup would suffice. He understood and hung up after making sure again. Then 15 minutes later(really fast delivery every time by the way) Paul personally showed up with my order with a complimentary Thai Iced Tea and asked about my grandmother and family. Amazing customer service to say the least.

Paul and family go each day to the farmers market to get their vegetables fresh and you can taste it. I'm ranting here but let's just say it doesn't get much better than Wanya Thai. I sound like a commercial or something but they are like family to me and I couldn't imagine eating Thai food without them. I've eaten at many different Thai restaurants in scv and socal and the flavor profile just doesn't compare. If you managed to read this entire review and don't go to wanya to try at least one dish than shame on you haha.

In conclusion, amazing food, amazing service dining in, to-go, fast delivery, family friendly staff, and farm fresh and clean ingredients that never change. If I ever move from Santa Clarita I am going to beg Paul for a demonstration and the recipe for the spicy...

Best Thai in Canyon Country hands down. Whether you like chow mien, pad Thai, fried rice or curry, this is the place to go, forget Panda. You wouldn't expect it from the size of the restaurant, but big things really do come in small packages here. You get large portions for a good price, all the food is made fresh to order, and the staff is super friendly. They are also very good with the special orders for picky eaters like myself. Calling ahead definitely helps for take out but the kitchen is speedy so no matter what you won't usually wait longer than 10-15 minutes for your order. Try not to take your big truck to pick up the food either, the parking lot is very small and awkward to maneuver at times.

I like: Kung pao chicken or tofu chow mien(no mushrooms, no celery, no bell pepper) with a large Thai iced tea. Satay chicken or rangoons for appetizer. Fresh wontons are very good.

ZERO STARS. This place is not good at all. I ordered the orange chicken with chow mein and Pad Kee Mow and it tasted awful. Their was no sauce on the orange chicken and the Pad Kee Mow had no flavor. I called to ask for a refund and the lady I spoke with told me that I could not get a refund unless something was wrong with the items. They only offered to remake the dishes. This restaurant will not give you a refund. They will only remake the item is something is wrong with it. I constantly told her that their was a problem and all I wanted my money back and she kept telling "only if something is wrong with the order we can remake it." I told her that I will not go back there. I do not recommend this place at all. All they want to do it take you money and not listen to the customers feedback to improve the quality of their food.
