Ordered pork cutlet curry bowl and this caramel matcha pearl latte to-go! Wanted to support the opening of this new business during the crisis. The curry bowl was delicious and affordable, but could probably use a bit more curry. Definitely very filling! I was hoping the latte would taste stronger with matcha, but it was still a good caramel drink. Just wouldn’t really call it a matcha drink. When we’re allowed to dine out again, I’d love to try some of their sashimi. The person taking our order was very friendly and easy to order from over the phone. Would recommend giving Toya Sushi a try! EDIT: I've been back way too many times for tea drinks. Their boba pearls are ridiculously good because of the honey flavor and smooth texture. After trying 4 different drinks I'd recommend any fruit tea with lychee jelly. My absolute favorite is the Maple milk tea with honey boba and pudding. Also I hear that they default to more curry now for their curry bowl. So awesome.

A fast, sushi takeout place that offers great meal combos. The portions are hearty for their main meals and it had good flavor, but their sushi rolls are lacking. We ordered the leopard roll and it fell apart much too easily. While it did have good flavor, they just weren't rolled properly. I did appreciate that they take dietary restrictions into account and were able to remove cashew nuts from the sushi roll for my friend's allergy. They are also closed for indoor dining and I hated the fact that everything was provided in to-go containers. The dining area is the patio and they also have a few tables set up in the parking lot. Didn't order their boba and milk tea, but it appeared rather popular as many people came just for that.

We here after a long day of sight seeing on highway 1. Cute little place, felt very homey. We got the Monster Junior Roll, and the Tempura Salmon if I remember correctly. Both were delicious, my wife who is normally not a fan sushi wanted a second Monster Junior Roll. It was that good and for the price of $12 it was definitely worth it. We also got the Oreo boba tea which was also delicious, and great price like $6. PS: Their restroom was also VERY clean and we really appreciated that. Very rare to see a restaurant with a clean restroom.

Let me start by saying that sushi is one of my favorite things to eat. So I get excited when I hear about a GOOD new sushi place. I visited Toya Sushi when I was home on vacation and I have not been to my home town in 2 years and it was not there the last time I was in Santa Cruz - at least I had not heard of it then. The 2 rolls I got were really GOOD! If you are in the area and you like sushi, give them a try.

More details for those who like to know... We were a party of 10 - all family. Yes, during Covid! My family is large. Please don't judge. We took up all of their temporary outdoor seating area in their parking lot. Which had shade. We had multiple orders - they got it out to us fast, considering. The presentation was good for take-out sushi. Their selection was really good even for the 2 of us that eat GF. Their fancy bubble tea drinks were popular with the 7 teens. Everyone ate every...

lemon mango tea (0% added sugar): loved it, excellent, would drink it again. mango matcha latte (0% added sugar): really thick for some reason. I personally enjoyed it but it was definitely not for someone who enjoys a more standard matcha latte (the milk quality seems to be pretty good however). as a former boba barista I will say the pearls tasted fine, someone who knows what they're doing is making the boba here. They're more on the QQ side. Their rolls are decent and straightforward, though I'm not sure why there's cashew nuts on what feels like half the menu. I just got a simple tuna-salmon-avo roll and the slicing job was uneven, so if you're someone who cares about nice looking rolls, I would just go to Shōgun. I do appreciate the vegetarian selection here, I just hope that it's better taken care if than...
