This was our second visit at texas roadhouse santa fe location on Carrillo road. Our first visit was an hour and 45munits Wait to find out that they were going to basically try to cram my party of eight at a booth Table where the table is literally bolted to the floor some of our guests are plus size and handicap,So it was not a size inclusive experience nor was it disabled friendly. We opted out of our visit that evening and decided to come in another day. Fast forward 2 days later my husband and I, daughter, and her boyfriend, decide on try on our own this time the wait for our table was an hour and fifteen minutes, when we got into the restaurant, we were able to be sat.Immediately upon arriving, because we had called ahead. ( I recommend doing this and always ask for an actual table) so you don't end up crammed at one of their insanely crazy booths. From the time we sat down to the time, we left two hours and fifteen minutes had passed during that time. While we waited, we had our appetizer and drinks, when our stakes came out, they were incorrectly cooked. My daughter's steak was rare when she had specifically asked for a medium well, my steak came out perfectly medium well, but it was cold, my husband's medallions were perfect. He had them with rice and a sweet potato, ( the sweet potatoes are delicious) i informed my server samuel that my steak was cold he was great, extremely friendly, very personable, and polite. It was wonderful talking with him because he was funny and lighthearted He offered to take it back and have it remade, as well as my daughter's cooked to medium well. We waited an entire hour for our steaks to come back to the table and it still was not correct, which was very sad.But I let the manager know who had brought out my steak, alex. She was very polite and professional, i let her know I was unhappy and she comed the bill on my steak. But let me take it home.So I could warm it up and actually have hot food. There really was no reason for 2 steaks to be cooked incorrectly twice. And come out cold twice. All in all our experience was not that great. But we'll give it another shot.Another day, only due to the staff's professional behavior around the situation. But as far as i'm concerned, they need to figure out what's going on in the kitchen and why their food is coming out cold. Also, my daughter had ribs on her plate. When they took her steak back because it was a combo meal to share with her boyfriend and when they brought her steak back correctly cooked, there was no ribs, instead there was mashed potatoes. Alex also competed the ticket for the ribs, which was very nice of her, all in all the food prep was a disaster when it came to the meat. But the potatoes, the fried pickles, the bread, the salad and the drinks were great, the only reason we'd give it another shot is because of the great service we received from samuel....
Read moreRather good experience turned sour. The first red flag is that the restaurant does not provide reservations. Google said they were open at 11am and when I called then they told me Google was wrong and to call back and try again for the waitlist at 2:45pm as their true opening time is 3pm. Okay excuse me for Google being wrong...maybe you should take care of that. So when I check back with the online waitlist, I can only reserve a time within one hour of when I’m planning to go. That ruins that attempt. I nevertheless decide to go there and get a table despite all the challenges. Hostess tells me there is a 2-hour wait, so I go to the bar instead with my service dog. It is already a challenge as I’m trying to place my dog in a spot where he is not in the way of people walking by. At one point the assistant manager (?) Val graced me with her miserable presence and reminded me my dog had to be out of the walkway. I told her I’m handling the situation. She then said make sure you do that we need this area cleared. That irked me but I let it go and took care of the issue. I ordered the meals and they were rather good. Moving on to the bill, I received it and it was kinda hefty. I noticed all the military/veteran logos around the restaurant and how “appreciative” they were to us. I asked the waitress/bartender if they provide a veteran discount as I am one. She said “sure, let me take your ID”. I provide it to her and she leaves. A few minutes later, guess who shows up. Missus bad news, Val the assistant manager (?) yet again graces me with her unpleasant presence. She goes on to tell me that military and veteran appreciation only happens on Tuesdays. I’m wondering why she feels she had to tell me that instead of provide that information to the unknowing bartender/waitress. That ruined my evening. I don’t think I’ll be back. I haven't had these problems at Rudy's. Edit: meal total was $50.33 and I added $8 tip because everyone...
Read moreAbsolutely shameful first experience. I placed an order to go at 6:45, it said my food would be ready at 8:00. Ok, they must be busy, but fine. I showed up 10 minutes early because I figured it might be ready. Wishful thinking. They told me it would be just a few more minutes. No problem. At 8:00 there was still nothing. Again, they said it would be just a few more minutes and apologized. Fine, it's opening week, I can understand if they're busy, but it seems the problem stems from incompetent management. Shortly after, I got a call while I was waiting in my truck telling me they don't have shrimp "fine, send it without the shrimp" I said. You'd figure it's simple enough for a steak house to send 3 ribeyes and a couple of sides, without shrimp, right? Apparently not. I waited another 25 minutes before getting impatient, only to be told "they didn't make my food" because they didn't have the shrimp. After I told them it was fine without it. Yea, ok. Makes no sense. What I think happened is that, in the confusion, they gave my food to another person to try and keep up with the pace, with total disregard for my order, and then lied to my face about it. There is no reason why this should have happened other than managers that don't know what they're doing, don't train their staff properly, and don't have proper systems in place to execute something as simple as a to go order. What am I to expect from dining in where they have a hundred people? I left their $40 apology ticket because I won't be going back there any time soon. I'm willing to attribute this to cold feet during opening, but honestly, its a big disappointment. I may decide to give this place another chance in the future after they've had adequate time to find their rhythm and update my review if they manage to get it together. For now, do better yall. Or at least be straight up with people so I can have time to go somewhere else, like the...
