Tortilleria Mexico #3 — Restaurant in Santa Maria

I should have written this review way back when I visited this great, little, authentic, Mexican eatery. The thing that stands out about this totally unassuming little Mexican eatery is that they make their own tortillas. I was so impressed with the amazing flavor and moistness of their corn tortillas, that I bought a fresh bag which was somewhere around fifty corn tortillas. The cool thing is that they were still hot and fresh off the press when they packaged them for me... and they stayed warm all the way back to Los Angeles, where I live.

The food here is also really good... and they also serve cerveza which on the hot day that I was driving through on a delivery route, I was hankering for some Mexican food... some REAL Mexican food... not that fast food stuff they call food... you know the places I'm talking about. Whenever and wherever I am when I am traveling, I always look for the mom and pop eateries. I'd really rather pay a little bit more because I know that I am going to have a much better experience, in taste and in atmosphere.

The Tamales had hardly any meat, we didn't like that . I offered a Taco salad with no sour cream they put it on anyway. I had to throw all the upper part of my salad away. My husband ordered a Chili Verda Burrito and the server said he would make it into a dinner for me. Well when I got home there was only a Burrito, no rice or beans, it was tasty but very spicy. There 3 mistakes in my order and I waited along time! So there should not have been any mistakes. The Tortillas was wonderful. Very disappointed because both orders were wrong or not filled right. Would we go back again? NO because there were too many mistakes in our orders and that tells all of us that they are not paying attention to their customers and they really don't care that...

Amazing food but the only downside is they take forever to take the order in the drive-thru. The whole point of a drive-thru is get in and out quickly. I’ve been here since 919am and it’s currently 925am and no response. It gets more awkward because the servers are outside bring food to customers and they see us but act like whatever. Update 10 mins went by and customers left until a worker said to go foward. I guess the drive isn’t on at this time?. Maybe put a sign up and don’t have us waiting like IDIOTS! Another update. They didn’t have change for $100 they first said yes and then no. Never going back Emmanuel is the worst customer service for him to laugh and have a smirk on his face...
